My god, when he starts You’re the Voice it sends shivers up my spine. Maybe The Horses is in the same box as that song. (Cold Chisel’s) Khe Sanh too.” It joins Braithwaite’s 1974 solo hit You’re My World, and Sherbet’s Summer Love from 1975 and Howzat from 1976 as his Australian chart topping singles. It took a while for everybody, myself included, to get our heads around it.”

There was one major problem when they came to shoot the video for The Horses: Margaret Urlich did not want to be involved. Karpin:“ Higher Than Hope got patchy airplay in America. The US label cooled down completely when Higher Than Hope didn’t work over there and they never released The Horses which was annoying.” In this game, you're the maestro of this very special musical group. It spent two weeks at No.8, a week at No.5, two weeks at No.3, one week at No.2 then hit No.1 on May 24, 1991, where it stayed for two weeks. It would up being the fourth-highest selling song of 1991 in Australia, helping Rise sell over 300,000 copies. The Horses finally left the Australian Top 100 in September 1991 after 30 weeks. Higher Than Hope peaked at No.28 in Australia. His next album, 1993’s Taste the Salt, made No. 3 in Australia but the only hit from the album was The World As It Is, which peaked at No.35. That was a fantastic idea. Margaret was also on the same record label as Daryl. I suggested it to Daryl, he liked the idea, and Margaret agreed to do it. Elisabeth was a very integral part of that song.”
