Her next door neighbor is an adorable old woman that has been trying to get her to go out with her grandson but Laney think he might be a dead beat since he is moving into his grandmother's basement. One day when she reading her mail she finds out that her best friend has signed her up to be on a reality tv show and can't believe it. The reality show is where she competes against 12 other woman on a show where 3 men are available and one is a billionaire. Even though she's reluctant she agrees to do the show and is immediately drawn to one man. Jake is only on the show because his grandmother wanted him to do it after she got him on it. He thought he'd make the most of it and when he saw Laney he thought things were starting to look up for him. When the show takes a break for the holiday imagine Jake's surprise when he sees Laney living right next door to his grandmother. He knows its against the show's rules to see her but he can't help himself. Jake really wants Laney but he finds out almost too late that the show is rigged and he has to find a way to get what he wants without losing everything. Will Jake and Laney find a way to be together? We’re herded into final-period Mass in the auditorium. They’ve rolled the mobile crucifix and communion table onto the stage. Poof! A chapel! On the first night of the game show Jake meets the women who are competing for his attention and love. When Laney steps out at the top of the stairs, he stares straight into her soul. With his future already in place by the producer, he is destined to lose. The producer throws all the obstacles she can at him. Can he find true love? Or is he destined to follow the plan laid out before him?
Laney is a law student who work at the local library. She lives with her guy best friend Tony, next door to a nice but edgy old lady, Jane. Jane like to drink at bingo and loves her grandson Jake who she tries unsuccessfully to setup on a blind date with Laney. Laney doesn't need a rich man but she doesn't want to go on a blind date with a grown man who just moved into his grandmother's basement. Tony and Jane are convinced that Laney and Jake would be so perfect together that they sign them up for a reality TV show where 12 women date 3 guys trying to find love and one of the guys is the secret billionaire.
I loved this book. A man that has rose to success becoming a billionaire is tired of women wanting to be with him only for his money moves into the basement of his grandmother's home.
