About this deal

Butterfly pea flower tea is the name, and it's made not from tea leaves but from dried flowers. It's been all over social media too, a little before blue Matcha was a thing.

The beautiful blue color of matcha comes from the anthocyanin pigment in the butterfly pea plant. It’s 100% natural food coloring that you can use in baking or drinks. Full-Fat Milk: you can use any type of milk you'd like in this recipe, but I'd highly recommend trying a homemade non-dairy milk.

Blue Matcha vs. Traditional Green Matcha

If you’re looking to experiment with flavors, you can add a squeeze of lemon or lime juice for a citrus twist, or coconut milk for a creamy, tropical taste. One cup of blue matcha contains more than twice the amount of antioxidants as regular green matcha. Antioxidants are important for fighting free radicals and protecting our cells from damage.

While the milk is warming up, combine the butterfly pea powder with a little boiling water right in your serving mug (I use about ¼ cup). One of the reasons it’s so easy to fall for a matcha drink is because it can be used for many different types of recipes. While green matcha is a popular coffee alternative for its many health and wellness benefits, it isn’t the only option available. Blue matcha tea, a type of herbal tea that doesn’t come with any caffeine, is also an excellent choice. That makes it a great choice for folks who are sensitive to caffeine, trying to cut down, or just looking for a caffeine-free option for their afternoon latte. In addition to possibly helping with hair and skin, butterfly pea flowers may also have an impact on weight loss. This is a fun latte recipe that I have been wanting to post for a while. It is unique and you might not have heard of it, but it is SO delicious, it had to be shared! This herb is a native plant to Asia and is used in conjunction with traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine.
