About this deal

degree tilt adjustable – Headlamp can be tilted up to 60 degrees downwards to illuminate your path, near or far. Fenix HM65R-T is powered by an included 3400mAh 18650 battery which is charged via the USB-C charging port on the rear of the headlamp (charging cable included). Spare batteries can be used to extend run time. For reference, here’s a baseline shot, with all the room lights off and almost nothing hitting the sensor. Also, here’s the light with the worst PWM I could find. I’m adding multiple timescales, so it’ll be easier to compare to the test light. Unfortunately, the PWM on this light is so bad that it doesn’t even work with my normal scale, which is 50 microseconds (50us). 10ms. 5ms. 2ms. 1ms. 0.5ms. 0.2ms. In a display faster than 0.2ms or so, the on/off cycle is more than one screen, so it’d just (very incorrectly) look like a flat line. I wrote more about this Ultrafire WF-602C flashlight and explained a little about PWM too. User Interface and Operation The main right hand SST40 LED provides a spotlight that can reach up to 170 metres with a maximum output of 1300 lumens in the turbo setting. The left hand XP-G2 S3 NW LED provides flood lighting with a maximum output of 400 lumens and a beam range of 54 metres. The spot and flood lighting are controlled separately and can be used individually or combined. The spotlight has a central hotspot with a beam angle of 15°, with a 75° spill beam angle and the floodlight has a wide 95° beam angle. Maximum beam distance for the spotlight is 170 meters and 54 meters for the floodlight. Waterproof to IP68 and resistant to impacts up to 2 meters.

There are two switches on the HM65R. They’re built into the top of the light and share a rubber cover. These switches operate in the same way – it’s practically like having two lights on one headlamp. So consider that for the table below. It’s one table but essentially the same result for the emitter corresponding to that switch. White Light - Turbo: 1200 Lumens (2 hrs), High: 600 Lumens (3 hrs), Med: 400 Lumens (6 hrs), Low: 150 Lumens (14 hrs), Eco: 50 Lumens (40 hrs) Press and hold the left switch for 0.5 seconds to turn on / off the red flood light or the right switch to turn on / off the main beam

The included Fenix ARB-L18-3400 mAh 18650 rechargeable battery delivers maximum run times whatever lighting mode is in use. The battery is easy to swap for a spare simply by unscrewing the battery cap, keeping your adventure going indefinitely! The battery is charged on board via the supplied USB-C type cable and your choice of mains or outdoor charger, whilst a 4 LED battery meter between the individual beam switches indicates charging status and remaining charge. The HM65R-DT uses the new detachable Fenix BOA headband. The BOA system allows the fit of the headband to be adjusted with a simple twist, allowing for an exact fit and easy / fast adjustment. The headband itself is a wider design, dispersing the weight over a larger area for a comfortable experience. Powered by a single 18650 rechargeable Li-ion battery, 2 CR123A Lithium batteries can be used as well; USB Type-C charging. Two buttons are located on top of the head torch and are operated in the same way with one controlling the flood LED and the other controlling the spot LED. Press and hold either button for 0.5 seconds to turn the light on and then each press will cycle through low, mid and high in the corresponding mode. Holding the relevant button for 0.5 seconds will turn the light off and the last used setting will be remembered next time the light is turned on. Note: *The high spot output is measured at total run-time, including output at reduced levels due to temperature or the built-in protection mechanism.

Note: *This is the accumulative run-time with the overheat protection active. The output may drop due to the overheat protection. Press and hold either of the two switches for 0.5 seconds to reach the corresponding mode. Output selection When the battery level is detected critical for currently used output, one of the indicator will flash to remind. Replace the battery or recharge the lamp as soon as possible. Top Headband Removal/Assembly The lamp will accumulate a lot of heat when used on high, med and low output levels for extended periods. When the lamp reaches a temperature of 65°C or above, the lamp will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 65°C, it will then allow the user for the reselection of the modes. Two CR123A lithium metal batteries can be used with this head torch, however they are not rechargeable therefore please do not attempt to charge the torch with these batteries installed.

About the product

The Fenix HM65R is a rechargeable head torch that delivers a maximum output of 1400 lumens when the separate flood light and spot light is combined. The Fenix HM65R ShadowMaster Rechargeable headlamp is based on the popular HM65R but with a Red flood LED rather than the white fitted on the HM65R. The next highest option is high of the spot emitter. The profile looks about the same as above. I don’t observe low voltage protection in any test. While the light has very low output, it’s still on at around 2.5V.

The primary power option is a single rechargeable 18650 battery (included); as a secondary option, you can also power the Fenix HM65R ShadowMaster with two CR123A batteries. The HM65R ShadowMaster comes with a Fenix 3500mAh 18650 battery and a USB Type-C charging cable which plugs directly into the unit to rechargeable the cell. Solution: Replace battery (Ensure battery is inserted according to the manufacturer’sspecifications). Fenix updated the two emitters for the HM65R-T. The emitter in the bigger opening below is the “Spot” emitter and is a Luminus SST-40. The temperature isn’t mentioned, but it’s clearly cool (or cooler) white. In charging process, one indicator flashes: below 20%, one constant-on and one flashes: 21%-50%, two constant-on and one flashes: 51%-80%, three constant-on and one flashes: 81% - 95%, four constant-on: charging complete. The lamp will accumulate a lot of heat when used at relatively high output levels for extended periods. When the lamp reaches a temperature of 65°C or above, the lamp will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. With an all-new body designed from magnesium, the Fenix HM65R ShadowMaster headlamp has an IP68 waterproof rating, IP6X dust-proof rating, and 2 metres of impact resistance. A: Fenix ARB-L18-3400 battery is recommended. Compatible with 2 x CR123A batteries. Other Li-ion batteries are not recommended. As High output fail to headlamp up due to current and voltage limitation, an unmatched battery may cause the headlamp to fail to work normally.

Fenix HM65R is a powerful dual beam outdoor headlamp which utilizes a magnesium alloy body for light weight and excellent heat dissipation. Featuring a 1000 lumen spot beam which reaches out 163 meters and a soft, even floodlight of up to 400 lumens for comfortable close in use, Fenix HM65R head torch delivers epic performance whatever your adventure. You can even combine the beams for a perfect lighting balance in complex environments! A Fenix ARB-L18-3400 mAh 18650 rechargeable battery is supplied and delivers maximum run times whatever the lighting modes in use. This battery is easy to swap for a spare simply by unscrewing the battery cap, keeping your adventure going indefinitely! The battery is charged on board via the supplied USB-C type cable and your choice of mains or outdoor charger, whilst a 4 LED battery meter between the individual beam switches indicates remaining charge. Uses white and neutral white LED's, delivering a max output of 1400 lumens, a max beam distance of 163 meters, and a max runtime of 300 hours. The Fenix name means “a living bird, a perfect thing” and since producing their first product on 3rd of September 2001, Fenix have always strived to achieve perfectionFenix HM65R ShadowMaster is aimed at the hunting and fishing market and the red LED gives you good visibility but is far less likely to spook your quarry. The four LED indicators also light up when either button is pressed when the light is off or when the torch is turned on to show remaining battery power. Four LEDs is 81-100% power, three LEDs is 61-80% power, two LEDs is 41-60% power, one LED is 21-40% and one flashing LED is less than 20% power and the torch should be charged as soon as possible when at this stage.
