About this deal

It’s worth noting that the Jet’s bumper bar is unusually easy to attach and remove. A child wouldn’t be able to operate it, but this will likely be a welcomed feature for most parents. If you already own a Silver Cross Simplicity or Dream car seat, like we did, another major bonus is that the Jet can be used with it. ( Jet Simplicity/ Dream adaptors sold separately.) While the Jet does boast a handy protective sleeve to store the bumper bar, our tester found the 1kg capacity shopping basket to be small in contrast to most of the other buggies she tested, especially the Micralite ProFold. One of the most significant changes Silver Cross has made to the Jet3 versus previous models is how the stroller folds and unfolds.

Because of the wider and more structured seat on the 2020 Jet, the new model has a weight limit of 55 pounds—the highest of any stroller of its size. Weight Limit The seat of the 2020 Jet is taller, wider and more structured, providing a more comfortable fit for your child all the way up to 55 pounds—and ensuring you can use the stroller as long as you need it. The seat on the Yoyo (compared to the original Jet) seems slightly larger and now that Miles is 15 months old he seems more comfortable in the Yoyo. Although we can’t travel at the moment, we’ve used this buggy every day since I bought it 3 months ago.

Travel Bags

Last year we wheeled it onto long-haul flights with a baby to USA, Australia and Singapore and bumped it over cobbles in Mykonos. The 2020 Silver Cross Jet is small yet sturdy, featuring upgraded suspension along with wider wheels for added stability. The Jet is well cushioned and supportive, ideal for longer rides. It’s reasonably cocooned for a newborn, but bear in mind that it doesn’t have the option to go parent-facing. I would honestly recommend both of these travel strollers. I did a lot of research before buying each of them and they have both served their purpose and more. It’s biggest advantage, in my opinion though, is how it folds to the size of a small suitcase and can be wheeled like one too.

Like most lightweight buggies, it isn’t machine-washable and the seat cover can’t be removed, which might be a deal breaker for some. Still, our tester found it didn’t attract or show up dirt and it passed the sippy cup spillage test with a good rub. New for 2020, the Silver Cross Jet car seat adapter now includes a bar that provides better stability for the car seat and attaches more easily, too. The bar and adapters can be disassembled for easier transport. The Silver Cross Jet is a top travel stroller for frequent fliers, folding to a compact size that fits overhead bins and even rolling through the airport like carry-on luggage. You can, however, attach a car seat to turn it into a travel system, but most parents will prefer to hold off on making the Jet their main buggy until the toddler stage. It’s an ideal travel companion, though, so don’t be afraid to have a look sooner if you’re wanting to jet off somewhere warm in the future. The leg rest is extremely simple to adjust with a gentle squeeze then push or lift. Our tester’s three-year-old still used it when out and about in the buggy, but Adele felt it might be better suited to a slightly younger child.

Our tester hung her changing bag on the Jet’s handlebar to observe how it performed during a topple test with her daughter in and out of the seat, and in both instances the buggy remained firmly upright. Sometimes when lightweight buggies are narrow, they can be unstable and easily lose their balance. This isn’t the case with the Jet.
