About this deal

Our easy-to-follow step-by-step drawing lessons will have you creating your favorite Pokemon in no time. Add the iconic ear and cheek markings, and then draw the eyes on the horizontal line running through the circle. This simple step-by-step guide will teach even the most inexperienced artist how to draw Snorlax from start to finish in only a few minutes, making it ideal for kids and novices.

If you need help with drawing the shape of the head, look up a reference photo of Pikachu online and follow the general shape in the photo. But I think of this much like Ditto’s shape: weird at first, but once you get it down you won’t forget it. Here are some simple, step-by-step drawing instructions and a video lesson on how to design a fantastic looking Raichu from Pokémon. For the feet, draw a short, slightly curved line extending out from the corner that’s at about a 45-degree angle with the bottom of the rectangle and then draw one on the other side.To make the cheek markings, place your pencil on the outer edge of the cheek, where the cheek juts out the most from the head, and draw a semi-circle that ends near the bottom of the cheek—and repeat this on the other side. There are other videos on how to draw these guys but the one I’ve embedded is probably the most accurate and easiest to follow. This longer design forces you to think about shapes and how proportions work together to make the whole figure. Starting below the first horizontal guideline, draw 2 medium-sized circles on both sides of Pikachu’s face (near the outer edge of the cheek). Because so many Pokemon have similar designs, mastering even a small handful will allow you to quickly expand your repertoire.

For Pikachu’s body, start with your pencil at the bottom of one of the cheeks (in the top half of the rectangle). To create Pikachu’s nose, draw a small, upside-down triangle slightly above the top of the mouth, then shade it in. The Pokemon featured on this list all have extremely complex appearances, yet are still rather simple to draw. Draw long, pointed ears on top of the head and then draw Pikachu’s round cheeks and chin at the bottom of the head. Now that you’ve mastered drawing Pikachu, you can learn how to draw Jigglypuff, Snorlax, or the Three Legendary Birds from Pokémon!
