About this deal

Use DITRA for ceramic tile installations over single layer plywood or OSB subfloors on joists spaced up to 19.2" o.c. The matting is made from non-rotting material and is highly resistant to salts, acids, alkalis, solvents, alcohols and oils. Since the matting is made of waterproof polypropylene, DITRA installations can be made waterproof with minimal effort. Schluter recommends using their Schluter Kerdi Coll Sealing Adhesive and their Schluter Keba Seaming Tapefor sealing the seams and floor/wall connections. We cut Schluter DITRA Matting to the length you need it, from 1 metre lengths to 30 metres rolls, meaning you never buy more than you need! Features & Benefits of the Schluter DITRA Matting Comb additional Schluter SET, Schluter ALL-SET, Schluter FAST-SET, or unmodified thin-set mortar over the joint using a 1/4" x 3/16" (6 mm x 5 mm) V-notched trowel or the Schluter®-KERDI trowel, which features a 1/8" x 1/8" (3 mm x 3 mm) square-notched design. Apply a layer bonding adhesive like Ardex AF200 to the level substrate using a 3x3mm or 4x4mm notched trowel. Cut DITRA matting to size if required, then embed the anchoring fleece on the underside of the matting into the adhesive so that its entire surface is strongly bonded. Mapei Mapeguard UM35 allows the distribution of stresses also on floorings subject to heavy loads; it is certified as EXTRA HEAVY COMMERCIAL RATING according to TCNA test reports complying with ASTM C 627 and is suitable for use in residential and commercial surroundings.

To install Mapei Mapeguard UM35 membrane correctly, we recommend consulting the Installation Manual, which is linked below. Start by preparing your area the same way. Then, it's time to measure and cut your cement board to ensure a proper fit. Once the boards are cut appropriately, use a layer of thin-set mortar on the subfloor and place the cement board pieces firmly onto it to adhere. You may want to use additional mortar on any gaps between boards. Lay Your Tiles Progress Profiles Prodeso Decoupling Membrane is constructed from low density polyethylene and features pyramidal cavities with round bases. Both sides are covered with a non-woven thermo-welded polypropylene fabric designed for optimal adhesion to the tile adhesive used to bond the membrane to the underlying substrate and the overlaying tiles. This membrane does not require expansion joints in the screed before the installation of ceramic and natural stone tiles. Allow it at least twenty minutes to dry, and then wipe the tile surfaces with a damp sponge or mop to remove excess grout. Give the grout another two hours to set, and then buff your floor with a cheesecloth to remove debris. In about 72 hours, it will be dry and ready to seal and finish. Laying Tile on Concrete With a Cement Board

Both types of decoupling membrane are available in a range of materials, including polyethylene, polypropylene, and rubber, each with its own unique properties and benefits. When choosing a decoupling membrane, it’s important to consider the type of flooring system you’re installing, as well as the specific requirements of your project, such as insulation, sound reduction, and load-bearing capacity. Tiles are extremely popular as floor coverings: they score points with their attractive appearance, are robust and hard-wearing – and are in principle suitable for laying on almost any surface. In principle, it is quite common to bond tiles directly to the screed, but it is often advisable to lay them separately. The reason for this is as simple as it is serious: Using a trowel or taping knife, spread the mortar over an area about three feet by three feet and ensure it is smooth. Using the notched side of a trowel, comb the mortar to create horizontal lines along the area. This will help the tile adhere. It should be noted that selecting the right grout for your tile is paramount to properly laying tiles on concrete. For example, cement tiles must always be installed with a quartz based grout that has no color pigments. Make sure the grout you select is the right one for your tile and surface type.Schluter DITRA membrane is particularly useful when installing underfloor heating and provides a decoupling layer between the underfloor heating and the tiles.

Mapei Mapeguard UM35 is a waterproof uncoupling and anti-fracture membrane that allows moisture in the underlying layers to be released. It is suitable for installing ceramic and stone tiles, including when overlaying existing flooring. Now is also the time to decide your grout joint. Cement tiles are great because they can be butt jointed since they don’t shrink or expand. If you’re using other tiles, leave room for expansion (we recommend a 1/16 grout joint in most scenarios). Provides uncoupling, waterproofing, vapor management, and heavy load distribution to ensure the durability and integrity of tile installations For DITRA-XL use a 1/4 " x 1/4 " (6 mm x 6 mm) square-notched trowel or the DITRA-XL trowel, which features a 1/4 " x 1/4 " (6 mm x 6 mm) square-notched design. Cut the Prodeso Decoupling Membrane to the desired length and with a 7 X 5mm notched trowel apply a suitable tile adhesive according to the substrate below.Place Proband 150 Sealing Tape on the Proband KOLL Adhesive, following the joint. Apply strong pressure and smooth the sealing tape to ensure the adhesion, preventing creases.
