About this deal

The Chambers of Purity lie deep below the Grey Knights' fortress-monastery on their Chapter homeworld of Titan in the Sol System, at the entrance to the ancient and shadowy vaults of Mount Anarch. This ensures that the Purifiers guard against the evil that slumbers therein. As iconic as it is, er, ‘divisive’ within the Warhammer 40k fan community, the Grey Knights’ Nemesis Dreadknight is probably the most distinctive and recognisable model in their army roster. But let’s look at we’ve got. It’s a very shooty list with melee capabilities – so these guys will hold their own at range and in close quarters. Terminators, being Terminators, are tough with 5+ invulnerable saves and choice of differing melee weapons and guns – which the Strike Squad and the other variants also get to dabble with.

In battle, Purifiers can turn their purity into a weapon, channelling it with their psychic talents to create an ethereal fire which can literally burn away the souls of their foes and reduce a fully-manifested Daemon to nothing but a memory in a few moments of blazing light and inhuman screams. The main difference between Grey Knights Terminators and Strike Squad marines (other than getting a 2+ armour save and a 5+ invulnerable save, compared to the strike marine’s basic 3+ power armour save) is that terminators can carry both a heavy gun and a melee weapon – rather than either/or. Some Grey Knights initiates whose curiosity leads them astray return to the chambers above following a brutal beating to reinforce the lesson that the Purifiers trust not even their own battle-brothers where some secrets are concerned. Other intruders do not return at all, their fate a mystery. Sneak into the Arks of Omen and cause some big green havoc with Boss Snikrot and his boyz. Boarding Patrol: Orks is a musclebound collection of tough-as-nails fighters led by the legendary Kommando Boss sporting a brand new model. In addition to Snikrot, you’ll board with five Flash Gitz, 10 Beast Snagga Boyz, and 10 Kommandos – who also drag along a reluctant Kommando Grot and far-too-enthusiastic Bomb Squig for the ride.* Boarding Patrol: Aeldari Just as the Paladins embody the epitome of the Grey Knights' martial prowess, so the Purifiers demonstrate the best of their strength of purpose and founding principles. Purifiers are selected not for their skill at arms nor the glory of their deeds, but based on the purity of their souls and their single-minded devotion to their sacred purpose.

As he did before in "The Carrion Anthem", Annandale weaves a blasphemous symphony of unholy horror which is compelling and grotesque all at once. The fall of Sandava II is a car crash we cannot help but watch and be swept up in- one that resonates and echoes and repeats throughout the novel. Armed, as standard, with a wrist-mounted Storm Bolter and a Nemesis Force Sword– both of which any battle-line Grey Knight can imbue with additional psychic power to make every hit land like an artillery shell – each Strike Marine also has his own personal symbology, heraldry, and custom wargear.

In this part, we’ll examine how the Grey Knights might be played in Boarding Actions. Here are their points values, including the buildable variants (though do note I have omitted the Purgation Squad, as they cannot be played in Boarding Actions). While all the power-armoured Infantry are much better in this codex, Purgation Squads are the best way to some serious firepower to your army. Now let’s have a look at some of the most iconic units in the Grey Knights – Terminators. Brotherhood Terminator Squads

Grey Knights Terminators

Still not enough? Brotherhood Terminator Squads know the Hammerhand psychic power by default, allowing them to take on some of the toughest opponents you’re likely to face. Purifiers are divided into squads led by a " Knight of the Flame" (effectively the Purifier equivalent of a Justicar). As Psykers, the Purgation Squad is able to take advantage of several powers to further enhance their effectiveness. They know Smite , of course, plus Astral Aim , and whichever power their Brotherhood grants them.

Purgators– dedicated heavy weapons troops for dealing ranged damage with Psycannons, Psilencers, and Incinerators. After GW revealed the new miniature, it got us wondering about a few things, first, is he getting Primarised? Second, which of the box set rumors we saw about a month ago might come true. Finally, did they reveal everything coming for the Grey Knights in the upcoming Thousand Sons and GK battle box?Even so, Crowe must be forever on guard, for the sword's sibilant whispers echo endlessly through his mind, offering to add its strength to his own in the pursuit of victory. Many men would embrace such a chance, thinking their will would be strong enough to control the sword. Based in a vast, but psychically hidden fortress monastery on Titan (the largest of Saturn’s 83 moons), it’s their mission to combat warp incursions, seeking and destroying chaos daemons wherever they assail Imperial worlds. They’re also tasked with securing all daemonic relics and warp-tainted artefacts within the ‘Chambers of Purity’ deep within Titan, to protect the rest of the Imperium from their warping influence. After the Prognosticars informed him of the impending daemonic incursion, Supreme Grand Master Geronitan chose Crowe to lead the assault, forming Strike Force Iron Helm to thwart Skulltaker's plans. Teleporting from low orbit, the Grey Knights arrived on the planet's ruined spaceport to find a vista of carnage, headless bodies piled in mounds as far as the eye could see. In the centre of the corpse-choked platforms and landing pads stood an arena crafted from the bones and skulls of the slain. The Blade of Antwyr is as potent an artefact as the Grey Knights have ever possessed. Some within the Chapter speculate that Antwyr is more than merely a Daemon Prince or Greater Daemon trapped by foul sorceries, and may even be the last surviving fragment of an ancient god. Warden of the Blade was fantastic, and while I haven't read any of the other Grey Knights novels, this one was an absolute joy to read. The Grey Knights themselves I felt were fairly fleshed out, and we got to see a lot of how they operate and think. That said, one of my main issues was that while Crowe and Sedrax were very well done characters, all the other Grey Knights were more or less one sided religious quotes. I think where the novel really shines for me personally is yet again Annandale's glorious depiction of Chaos. From the monstrous seeds of the Daemonic incursion up through the wild ride of the ecclesiarchal palace, Annandale's mind somehow always depicts Chaos in a very uniquely insane way that I just love to read.
