I enjoyed the ones with daisy and hazel and the junior Pinkertons the best- I’m not a huge fan of May but her story was there to introduce her for the next series.

At least, it appears to be an accident - until the Detective Society look a little closer, and realise a murder has taken place. On the debit side, part of Daisy’s mentoring involves teaching Hazel to blend in by disguising her intelligence.

My favourite thing about the book though – beyond Hazel’s voice – is the girls’ own fraught relationship.
