The islands' unique climatic conditions are ideal for the cultivation of fruit and vegetables, which are the main ingredient of most local dishes. Typical of the archipelago is the Canary Islands honey rum, which even has a specific geographical designation: Ronmiel de Canarias. It is made from molasses or eau-de-vie, with a quantity of honey that reaches 2% of its total volume. A selected blend of guarapo made from authentic sugar cane from La Palma, aged in the best barrels of the distillery, to which honey infused with citrus is added, to return it to American oak and finish refining this incredible Ron Miel full of nuances, sweet, but with a subtle and attenuated sweetness that will be the delight of lovers of Ronmiel de Canarias.

Today the quality of the final product is dependent upon its careful production in the distillery, a process honed over centuries, but the true secret of Canary Islands rum lies in the raw material, which you can try from your luxury residences on Tenerife. The liquor varies quite a bit depending on the area in which it is produced, and in the case of the Canaries, honey rum holds a Protected Denomination of Origin. Made from molasses or the unfiltered first fermentation, honey rum gets its name from the amount of honey within it, which is over 2% of the total volume. The volcanic origins of the region, its pleasant temperatures and the careful artisan production mean that many of the star products of its cuisine (especially the wines and cheeses) have the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) seal.
