When in Camera View in the DJI GO app, tap Photo Modes and select Pano. You'll find 2 different modes: Automatic Panorama and Selfie Panorama. Choose your preferred mode and wait for the camera to move to its starting position. You should also look at the setup process: how easy it is to mount (and unmount) your smartphone on the gimbal, and how easy it is to pair the two devices up so that they work properly. Does the gimbal offer physical controls to ensure you don’t need to touch your phone, and how long does its battery last?

Magnets change things up from last year's DJI Osmo Mobile 3 gimbal and essentially fix our biggest pet peeve: having to constantly mount and unmount our phone from gimbal's secure grappling claw every single time we wanted to use our handset. To the left of the main button interface is a zoom slider, which engages digital zoom through the DJI Mimo app, and a power button above it, which switches between photo and video shooting with a single press. On the front of the gimbal is a trigger that can reset the gimbal position, and finally, there’s a USB-C port for charging the gimbal. The new design features a USB port on the right side of the grip, allowing you to charge your smartphone while shooting. Additionally, you can charge DJI Osmo Mobile 3 with a power bank, which means you’ll never run out of battery at a critical moment. How to Update Firmware Before using Osmo Mobile 3 for the first time, you will have to activate the device. To do so, open the DJI Mimo app and tap the camera icon in the top left corner of the screen. Search for your Osmo Mobile 3’s Bluetooth, and tap connect. Enter your DJI account name, and follow the on-screen instructions to finish activation. More importantly, the DJI OM 4 ran less hot than the Osmo Mobile 3 when we were using it for an all-day shoot outdoors in the sun. And yet it's easily detachable with a hard enough of pull.
