About this deal

October in the Chair: Highly fanciful meeting of the twelve months. Started off interesting but soon faded. This either should've been a novel or cut.

To me this felt like drinking a RedBull energy drink (if you drink that sort of thing). Stop making excuses. Strive for excellence. Stop using cultural norms to justify your laziness/addiction/sin. For those who are still looking to complete your Halloween book bingo, there are some stories in here for you that you may want to take a look at.Summer Matching Letter Game , Ice Cream Alphabet Printable Matching Puzzles, Seashell Alphabet Summer Kindergarten Activity , Swimming Goggles Alphabet Puzzles Summer Kindergarten Activity , Sandcastle Letter Matching Summer Kindergarten Activity , Flip Flop Summer Kindergarten Activity, Grass Alphabet Puzzles – Letter Matching Activity I was impressed with Neil Gaiman for doing a great job narrating his own stories. He's one of the few authors that can get away with it. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy the material quite as much. While I've never been a fan of twisted nursery rhymes (translation: I hate them; if you can't come up with original material you shouldn't be writing) Gaiman did a reasonably good job of making the Humpty Dumpty parody palatable (but just). When I got to the completely pointless second story about a troll, I was more than a little disturbed that an author (any author) would feel the need to describe a magical creature's penis. I overlooked it, willing to give Neil the benefit of the doubt. Maybe all his great stories are at the end, I kept telling myself. Unfortunately the very next "young adult" story was about a thirteen year old boy that wanted to touch his best friend's breasts and "maybe even put [his] hand between her legs." None of her “sin” reveals (that I got to, bc again DNF) were relatable. They all seemed pretty silly to me. The author tells us she’s not perfect but then doesn’t share any real problems. I’ve had too many mom friends visit motherhood hell. This author almost seems naive to the trauma many mothers find themselves living through.

Thank God awareness of Autism and Aspergers Syndrome in girls and women is spreading. For years it was believed that only makes were able to be on the Autism Spectrum, this has led to a tidal wave of diagnosis in females as it's recognised that traits can be very different between the two. I share examples from my own journey as a mother, but as always, the goal is never to do things “Abbie-style” (or insert any other name) but instead to ground everything we do in the Word of God and His principles for life that will never change or lead us astray. The second story reads like a fairy tale. A young boy is accosted by a Troll under a bridge. A troll who is going to “eat his life”. He keeps escaping the troll by promising him he will return later in his life, where he will have acquired more “life” for the troll to eat. Despite the cutesy title, this is soooooo not appropriate for anyone under preteens. There are no rainbows and there are no unicorns...and because it's Gaiman, it's weirdly sexual (though, not hardcore, at least). YOU have been warned Troll Bridge"- This is a good adolescent short in that the symbolism is well done, but overt enough to be on the right level. It is not such a good adolescent story in it's discussion of sexuality and specific references to genitals. As an adult, I can appreciate this story; as a teen, I would have been distured by it. (I am a goodie two-shoes.) * * *

The quality, some sections, some insights.. I would give 3 stars maybe. But I just can’t rate higher than 2 or else it might look like a recommendation. I am so thrilled to see these amazing girls speaking out and sharing their stories. It's heart-warming, funny, sad at times and educational. It's a short read but carries a powerful message.

M's story is great. I hope that you'll read the book to understand Autism/Asperger's from a more personal angle. I give this book 4 paw prints from Booklover Catlady.Grafton was named a Grand Master by the Mystery Writers of America and received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Private Eye Writers of America, the Ross Macdonald Literary Award, three Shamus Awards, and many other honors and awards. Mars is a reddish planet and the fourth planet from the sun. It is the planet that comes closest to the Earth. A great blend of the main character's life, aspirations, problems, etc. along with a knotty, difficult-to-untangle crime. It all starts with a rather small job for Kinsey Millhone, the MC in this series. Kinsey's a private eye who rents a room in a law office, and usually her jobs are kind of ordinary: watching a supposedly adulterous spouse, for example, or running down info at the local town hall. When a long-lost cousin, a lawyer, asks Kinsey to find a person who went missing twenty years ago...

Be encouraged, friends, that there is so much good in being thankful (just as we’re exhorted by Scripture), even in the midst of trials, and that rejoicing in good mothering days, far from being inauthentic, can be a beacon of light for other moms doing their best to keep their heads above water in the stormy seas of mothering struggles shared in the name of “telling it straight.”

Anne and I then went to REI, where we saw lots of people we know, also shopping there. Anne got a shirt and exchanged some sandals for a better color. Kennard was working there and let us know that he plans on visiting Dave this summer in Rochester. He also plans to get an apartment. Yes I have read several of these stories in previous anthologies. But that's ok. Like a favourite movie that I'm happy to watch all over again, I'm more than happy to re-visit books & stories that I love too. Grafton never wanted her novels to be turned into movies or TV shows. According to her family she would never allow a ghost writer to write in her name. Because of these things, and out of respect for Sue’s wishes, the family announced the alphabet now ends at “ Y”
