About this deal
Originally a distillery exclusive, this impressive Bowmore release celebrates the legacy of David Simson, the founder of the Islay distillery. Following purchase in 1837, by William and James Mutter, the distillery was resold in 1892 to the Bowmore Distillery Company Ltd. Another of Islay’s finest exports, Bowmore produces superb scotch whisky from its unique coastal location. Their whisky distillery produces some two million litres annually and adheres to strict traditions; production methods have scarcely changed in two centuries.
Paired with the fresh, Hebridian sea air and cold, coastal stone walls which protect Bowmore whiskies during a meticulous maturing process, Bowmore whiskies are as full and as bold as the waters that surround their birthplace. A beautifully inspiring masterpiece, this unique, handcrafted vessel houses an equally scarce single malt - Black Bowmore 1964. Bowmore® adheres to the SWA Code of Practice for the Responsible Marketing and Promotion of Scotch Whisky © 2023, 40 – 53.
Founded in 1779, Bowmore is thought to be one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland, and is owned by Japanese drinks company Suntory, which also owns Auchentoshan and Glen Garioch.
Their whisky emerges from this time-old and traditional distillation process only once deemed perfect by Bowmore’s skilled, expert distillers, and so with Bowmore whisky, you can be sure that each bottle will be as special as the last.A careful selection of ex-sherry casks and hogsheads went into this single malt Scotch whisky, which promises generous helpings of sherry-soaked fruit, and dark caramel character.
