About this deal

But of course, they can't be together because Persephone is supposed to be a candidate for the goddesses of eternal maidenhood. I don't want to just descend into laughing at things teenage girls like - it's condescending sexist shittiness. stars was that there was totally NOT enough HadesxPersephone content for the intro to the serial webcomic!

The artwork is rich and dramatic, with gorgeous colors and bold linework, each panel a dreamy treat for the eyes. The depiction of Zeus is great, depicting him as super shitty and egotistical as you’d imagine but still making him just a lot of fun as he messes with his two brothers. Chaos reigns in Olympus as Zeus publicly declares Persephone a traitor and issues a warrant for her arrest. Una de las cosas que más me ha gustado ha sido el guion, los diálogos están súper bien y hacen que la lectura sea dinámica.

Will brush up on my myths before the next volume comes out and hopefully I'll enjoy that one a bit more! The story is about the myth of Persephone's abduction by Hades but in a modern world of friendships, lies and gossips and the wild parties where we get to see the different sides of greek gods. It's unsurprising that each character gets their own snazzy fluorescent skin colour, as they all look the same and it's the only way to tell them apart. The art was INCREDIBLE but as someone who isn't super familiar with greek myths, I was a little lost for a lot of this lol. Already a word-of-mouth sensation online, Rachel Smythe’s smart, sexy, Eisner Award-winning webcomic gets its welcome print debut, bringing readers the first volume of her modern take on the Persephone myth. Though I was dubious about how it’s look in book form and read about the issues people in the US were having with their copies (upside down books, misprints and broken spines) mine arrived perfectly and is absolutely gorgeous. Originally released as a webtoon (read it here), this graphic novel compiles the first 25 episodes in full color to show off Smythe’s wonderfully stylized artwork.

Upon hearing this, Aphrodite gets Persephone very drunk and puts her in the back of Hades' car, to teach her a lesson for "smiting the goddess of beauty. I loved the plot as it is the modern retelling of greek myths and the way the author draw the characters in this is just so unique, stylish and perfect.

No solo es una historia absolutamente espectacular que reinterpreta muchísimos mitos griegos de una manera un poco más modera, sino que se centra en Hades y Perséfone. The plot is twisty, I think one of the reasons it's so great is because as a book that was originally a webtoon, the author has to leave you wanting more after every chapter so you keep coming back for the updates, which I think makes for a very fast-paced and captivating plot that always keeps you guessing.
