About this deal

I don’t mind some surface noise from an old weathered vinyl, but a new one is a little annoying even after cleaning multiple times. It would later re-appear as part of the " Greatest Hits I + II" set (1994) as well as " The Platinum Collection" (2000). The Show Must Go On was a perfect career summation for the band, though no one knew at the time it would be the last single released in Freddie's lifetime. Greatest Hits II reached No 1 on the UK Albums Chart and is the tenth best-selling album in UK Chart history, with sales exceeding 4 million. In the US, the release of Greatest Flix was scheduled for 15 November 1981 on Warner Home Video, but distribution was switched to EMI Music after the band's management disagreed with Warner's recent decision to move to a rental-only programme instead of selling their videos.

The other sixteen tracks on the album collected the best and finest from the decade prior, meaning that, again, nothing that didn't reach the UK Top 30 was included. For the 1981 release, the photo was skewed, but was later presented as it was originally taken for the 2011 re-release. All image and audio content is used by permission of the copyright holders or their agents, and/or according to fair dealing as per the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.

The album consisted of Queen's biggest hits between 1981 and 1991, from the UK chart-topper " Under Pressure" to " The Show Must Go On". The video for "Killer Queen" had been shot especially for Greatest Flix, as no video had been made for the song on its original release in 1974. As of 2016, 'Greatest Hits II' is the tenth best selling album of all time in the UK, with sales of over 3. Fourteen in total, from “A Kind Of Magic” (Highlander Soundtrack) to “The Show Must Go On”, “Under Pressure” (with David Bowie) to “Innuendo” (the last big hit), brought Mercury, May, Deacon and Taylor into the very closed circle of sacred rock monsters. The singles " Body Language", " Back Chat", " Las Palabras de Amor", " Thank God It's Christmas", " Princes of the Universe" and " Scandal" were omitted for this release.

The single "Under Pressure", which was released the same week as Greatest Hits, also topped the UK Singles Chart. This album touches all of Queen's compelling sides, from the effortless pop of "I Want to Break Free" to the symphonic grandeur of the epic "Innuendo," this release captures the band at their most far reaching, creatively. In some territories, despite the band's popularity, not enough songs were issued as singles to fill a compilation album, and a few album tracks were used as filler.

It reached a new peak of number 11 on the Billboard 200 chart on its reissue in 1992, [22] and finally made the top ten of the Billboard 200 in November 2020 when it peaked at number eight, as a result of a Walmart sale on various vinyl albums on 14 November 2020. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. There was no universal track listing or cover art for the Greatest Hits album, and each territory's tracks were dependent on what singles were released there and what tracks charted. Australia was identical to the US version, but had "Tie Your Mother Down" (live version, with organ intro) as an extra track. Front hype sticker on bottom right corner reads "ONE OF THE WORLD'S BEST-SELLING ALBUMS OF ALL TIME!

Hits II was a double album, whereas the initial Hits collection was a single disc, and to date it has sold over 19 million copies worldwide. Note: New videos were created for Now I'm Here, Seven Seas Of Rhye and Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy for this collection, as they did not previously have music videos. This compilation was made up of tracks such as "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Keep Yourself Alive" and "Under Pressure" (which had already appeared on the Elektra 1981 Hits collection), as well as newer tracks (" A Kind of Magic" and " Radio Ga Ga"). Freddie Mercury designed the crest on the album cover, using the astrological signs of the four members: two Leos (Roger Taylor and John Deacon), one Cancer (Brian May) and one Virgo (Mercury). Greatest Hits II is a compilation album by the British rock band Queen, released on 28 October 1991. Among the longest charting albums in the US, as of January 2024, it has spent 579 weeks on the Billboard 200 and has been certified 9× platinum in the US. Curiously, only Under Pressure was released from Hot Space, while Scandal was also nowhere to be found.
