Petersham Cellar was founded by Giovanni Mazzei from the Marchesi Mazzei, owner of the Castello di Fonterutoli since 1435, Tuscany and Lara Angelica Boglione from Petersham Nurseries, London. On the nose is fresh and tangy, orange oils coming through thick and fast and unlike other bitter-led triple sec style liqueurs Cointreau is intensely sweet leading into a dry finish. El Rayo Tequila pays homage to the legend that lightning struck an agave plant, cooking it and creating the first ever Tequila.
What we offer isn’t available anywhere else in our corner of Walthamstow, whether it’s simple wines for the everyday table, great bottles for those special occasions, or craft beers and selected spirits for everything in between. About: Hand-planted, hand-harvested and hand-made to retain as much of the complex natural flavours as possible. Both are made from 100% blue agave, which is grown for 8 years in the highlands of Mexico, before being twice distilled in 100% copper stills to draw out the raw plant freshness.The sweeter notes and slight oak smoke from the barrel aged techniques come through and has a nice lingering finish. The brand was created by two South Londoners who collaborated with some master producers to craft an agave alternative to gin.Bottled on site in Jalisco and made of 100% agave, Arette Blanco is an exceptional silver tequila full of fresh flavours, spicy hints and a cheeky character in which you can pick out each single flavour note. This is the Reposado expression from Tequila El Rayo, which distils 100% Blue Weber agave in 105 year old copper stills and matured for seven months in casks that previously held whiskey before being bottled. This particular expression is not made with lightning, but with 105 year old copper stills, which distil the agave twice before its bottled up. No Limes have been harmed in the making of this Funkin Puree, but they have been squeezed within an inch of their lives to create the tart, refreshing flavour of this cocktail puree.
