Dog Man: Mothering Heights - Dav Pilkey

Dog Man arrives at the police station and the Mean Officers start bullying him because of his cone. Dog Man presses the button on the top, which causes him to change into his Mecha-Suit. The mean officers run away in fright after this encounter, and they hide behind the plant Dog Man usually hides behind. Dog Man turns off the Mecha-Suit and discovers that Chief is writing a love letter to Nurse Lady. Dog Man doesn't like the letter, and expresses this by blowing a raspberry. Chief crumples it up and throws it away and admits that he'll always be alone. Dog Man then comforts Chief after realizing what he's done. This book, along with the rest of the series is very funny reading and kids (and adults) will love it. It’s called a graphic novel. Think comic rather than anything more adult… In the middle of summer... L'il Petey and Dog Man are enjoying their lifes somewhere in the ocean on a remote island, what will they bring into this resort? This is the second time someone has mentioned Batman. The first was Li'l Petey in Dog Man: Brawl of The Wild. Note: it Could be Possible that this book takes, place About one week after the events of Grime and Punishment, Likely due to Petey mentioning some things that happen in that book as a week ago. The Mean Officers (the female is named Maude and the male’s name is unknown) are police officers who work alongside Dog Man and Chief, the two main officers. In Dog Man: Brawl of the Wild, they have frequently been observed bullying and antagonizing Dog Man, as well as incarcerating him once.A reference to Book 4 when Zuzu growls at Petey, Sarah said "Be nice Zuzu" and Petey said "Yeah, be nice, Zuzu!" This first happened when Lil' Petey's "babysitter" took him to the movie studio. When Sarah and Petey see the hospital patients eating the candy and then Sarah says, "Speaking of weird transitions..."

Reviewers have pointed out that there is toilet humor in the story; however, it is handled humorously rather than in a crass or inappropriate way. Most kids 7 and up will find it funny. In this book, as in many others, Dog Man and his friends are put to the test by inanimate objects (the evil characters) that have grown to supersize and become animated. It’s also worth noting that while Dog Man plays an important role, he’s not the only hero who steps in to save the day. There’s plenty of humor, I’d say toilet humor definitely features a lot – so some parents I could see perhaps wanting their children to avoid it, but on the whole, very harmless and very funny. Dog Man has been forced to wear the Cone of Shame, but Lil Petey can help make it more fun. Petey comes to spend time with his son as Grampa breaks out of jail. What trouble will they get into this time? Stories that explore universal themes like friendship, tolerance, and the triumph of the good-hearted are woven into Dav’s semi-autobiographical works.

Chief is the leader of the police force and one of the main protagonists, later a supporting character in the Dog Man series. In Mothering Heights, he falls in love with Nurse Lady. When the patient in Chapter 8 eats the candy Genie S. Lady gives out, the bed he was lying on in the previous comic panel is gone. The protagonist and namesake of the Dog Man series, Dog Man is widely regarded as the greatest police officer in the world. Dog Man is unable to speak, but he can communicate using hand symbols, like 80-HD.

Big Jim and Grampa make a cameo after they started arguing about Grampa calling Big Jim "buddy" when they were in the pink Sippy Cup. Petey tells Sarah that he moved to Happy Home Shelter when he was little with his mother, even though they were very poor his mother gave him love. Even after she passed away, Petey felt that love with Li'l Petey and thinks that love can last forever. Sarah ends the show, and can't think of anything going wrong. Then, Sarah, Petey, Li'l Petey and her cameraman are snatched by the sippy cups and Sarah admits that something has gone wrong. This was all over the place even more than usual. The humor is getting worse and unfunny. I did like the ending though. Li'l Petey and Molly's songs are parodies based on Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Take Me Out to the Ball Game, and If You’re Happy and You Know It.Dog man gets hurt in the line of duty and the chief is worried. Petey is gearing up for an interview where he would explain why he became bad and then good. As usual, Grampa is up to no good, and Li'l Petey and Molly are getting on Petey's last nerve. Dav Pilkey is an American author and illustrator of children’s literature. He is best known for the Captain Underpants and Dog Man series. They are filled with juice within. Grampa and Big Jim become trapped inside of it, and the malic acid in the juice corroded 80-HD and Dog Man’s Cone of Destiny.
