He warns Percy not to let anyone know he spoke to him and advises him to seek out Nereus, the Old Man of the Sea.

He accused the class of ganging up on Wright, and not considering how he felt. Ultimately, the teacher ended the trial, declaring Wright not guilty, and replaced the money herself. Wright, Edgeworth, and Butz became inseparable friends after this incident. Fifteen years later, it was finally revealed that, despite not being in school that day, Butz was the one who had stolen the lunch money, though Edgeworth had known this all along.
