Boasting a sturdy bracket, the camera is best mounted reasonably high on your property to avoid it being stolen. The Ring Indoor Cam makes it much easier to deal with recorded footage, although you do need a cloud subscription for that camera. The camera includes an LED spotlight (160 Lumens) and a 110dB siren which is triggered when motion is detected.

Finished in black plastic with a nice curve to it, this may be a cheap camera but it certainly doesn’t look it, and the Yale WiFi Camera Full HD won’t look out of place in any home. We also found putting the camera into privacy mode straightforward enough by toggling a switch in the app, similarly it’s relatively easy to toggle to move the camera left and right and up and down using the onscreen arrow keys. This view would be even better if the thumbnails worked, but I only ever got greyed out thumbnails with no picture.
With the ability to live view on any smartphone device, you can be anywhere in the world, at whatever time and check in on your house. The Full HD video, which is recorded in color during the day and in black and white when it’s dark, thanks to the Night Vision mode, were clear and detailed. With high definition video recording, the All-in-One Outdoor Wi-Fi Camera has expandable storage via an SD card slot (Max 128GB). One of the higher end devices in the line-up, it’s slightly unusual in that it attempts to bridge the gap between simply monitoring your property and providing a deterrent to burglars.

There’s no mention of IR in the specifications, and the camera instead seems to boost the image sensor to capture more light. The flexible mount enables you to angle the camera so it’s in the best position to capture any motion that occurs at the front of your property. And while this may seem a little over the top to some people – especially if you already have a burglar alarm – to others it may well be a lot more useful than a standard security camera that only records footage when it detects motion. We would always advise anyone using outdoor Cameras to make sure the position of your cameras comply with your legal obligations under the data protection laws. Looking a bit like a winking face, the camera section features a round Full HD 1080p lens next to a circular PIR (passive infra-red) detector for capturing movement.The only slight problem with the device is that you will need to use a drill to mount the sturdy bracket to the wall and it does need to be connected to a mains power supply. Yale also provides window stickers in all its CCTV or security camera kits to allow homeowners to clearly display that their home is being monitored, ensuring that they are taking responsibility for not encroaching on a neighbour’s privacy.
