The Hollyland Lark M1 is more than just a wireless microphone system. It’s an all-in-one solution for those who are serious about their audio. Its HearClear noise cancellation feature, combined with its wide compatibility and impressive transmission distance, puts it head and shoulders above many other devices in the market. Whether you’re a seasoned vlogger or just starting your audio journey, the Hollyland Lark M1 is an excellent choice for enhancing your sound recording experience. Plus, the transmitters are incredibly lightweight, so the wearer is never conscious of the weight. This is something extremely useful in a real-life situation. Duo kit includes 2x TX units, 1x RX unit, 1 USB-C to USB-A cable, two furry windshields, 1 storage case, 1 carrying case/charger and 1x 3.5mm TRS-to-TRRS cable and 1x 3.5mm TRS-to-TRS cable. Optional cables including TRS-to-USB-C and TRS-to-Lightning are available.

I am impressed when it comes to the actual audio quality; the vocals’ tone is full and rich with that slight radio DJ depth to the sound. Ultimately the audio that these mics enable you to capture is far removed from that of the built-in mics of the camera and better than many wired solutions. Pairing your audio equipment should be an easy task, not a complex challenge. The Hollyland Lark M1 exemplifies this simplicity. The microphone is designed to effortlessly connect with your iPhone, allowing you to focus more on your content and less on setup. The Lark M1 is a cutting-edge omnidirectional mic that adopts LC3 codec technology to achieve an enhanced sample rate and bit depth of up to 48kHz and 16 bits. This means that the Lark M1 clip on mic microphone wireless device is able to create a more complete and accurate reproduction of audio and record vocal range sounds with incredible accuracy and detail. With the Hi-Fi sound quality, you can rest assured that there is less distortion of the sound, and you will never miss any important sound information, delivering a pleasant listening experience. The M1 wireless lavalier microphone has an acoustic performance that is maximized by a sleek metal mesh textured skin, making it easy to wear thanks to its curved edge ergonomics and matte UV-painted surface. Additionally, with the built-in noise cancellation function, the Lark M1 is perfect for recordings even in the most demanding environment. Simplified Operation & Excellent Noise Reduction

The receiver is nice and simple, with a 3.5mm audio out that links directly into your camera. There is no on-device audio monitoring, so headphones must be plugged directly into your camera.

Very usefully, it has an eight-hour run time (or 20 hours continuously) from a single full charge so you can probably do several shoots before running out of juice. During this test I made several recordings and then left the units switched on afterwards and I got to seven hours before they ran out of energy. There are three preset volume options, though, that allow you to set the volume at High, Mid, or Low, depending on the audio levels. Fine audio controls are, however, missing on the Lark M1. This is something that’s present in the Lark 150.Iphone 13, Iphone 13 Pro, Iphone 13 Pro Max, Iphone 12 Pro, Iphone 12, Iphone 11, Iphone XS Max, Iphone

If you’re looking for a reliable system for shooting with smartphones, I recommend that you look at the Lark C1. This is designed to work as a plug-and-play system and comes in dedicated Android and iOS versions (for iPads and iPhones). But the Lark M1 doesn’t stop at ease of use. It ensures that every recording you make on your iPhone, whether it’s the latest iPhone 13 or an earlier model like the iPhone XS Max, is of exceptional quality. The Lark M1 captures rich, detailed sound, enhancing your videos with audio that complements your visual content perfectly. This is a dual mic setup, and that invariably suggests that the system can record in stereo mode. You can select which mic corresponds to which side of the frame and choose the channel accordingly.

The Lark M1 wireless lavalier mic is a 3-level volume preset device that gives you the freedom to take your music anywhere. With a 650ft (200m) long wireless distance, you can enjoy your music indoors or outdoors without worrying about cords getting in the way. I recently reviewed the Lark 150, and it had these wonderful control knobs on the receiver, which you could use to fine-tune and control the transmitter levels, especially for fluctuating audio levels. MPB puts photo and video kit into more hands, more sustainably. Every month, visual storytellers sell more than 20,000 cameras and lenses to MPB. Choose used and get affordable access to kit that doesn’t cost the earth. Incredible Lightweight and Compact: Lark M1 wireless lavalier microphone weighs only 0.42oz/11.8g, lighter than 3pcs of A4 papers, None-feeling wear experience.Once all set up and ready to go, I found the Hollyland Lark M1 to be a mix of pros and cons when recording. It’s capable of 48KHz and 16-bit audio over a 2.4GHz frequency with an advertised range of 200m (656ft). That claim is accurate if you have a perfect line between the mics and the receiver. If there’s any sort of interference, and you need to be quite a bit closer. That said, I still managed to get good quality without any recording loss from about 200ft away which, in all honesty, is plenty of distance for most users.
