About this deal

Regional regulations must be observed when deploying radio equipment. More info Power Input PoE Min The only thing odd to me so far is UniFi shows wired clients connected to my main switch (US-16-150W) instead of UAP-IW-HD. I have a printer and a NAS box plugged into the UAP-IW-HD. UniFi shows them connected to the main switch's port feeding the UAP-IW-HD. While technically correct, it would prefer it show then connected to the UAP-IW-HD. IMPORTANT: The UAP-IW-HD requires a UniFi Switch with PoE for power. Passive PoE adapters are not recommended. The quoted wireless specification is given as the maximum radio performance. Achievable range and throughput will vary depending on the regional regulations where the radio is deployed. The UniFi UAP-IW-HD access point can be conveniently powered by an 802.3af or 802.at compliant switch.

These three 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports support data only. Used to connect client devices to the LAN. This item comes without PoE injectors and must be bought seperately if you are not using them with a PoE Switch. Use the configurable reporting and analytics to manage large user populations and expedite troubleshooting.

MIMO access point with 4-port Gigabit Ethernet switch for high-density environments. Fits into wall outlet. An electrical wall box should be pre-installed with an Ethernet cable running from the box to a UniFi Switch with PoE.

Ethernet port supports data and PoE passthrough (requires 802.3at PoE+ input). The maximum PoE passthrough output is 12W. The UAP-IW-HD is powered by 802.3af PoE. If PoE passthrough is being utilised, 802.3at PoE is required. Ubiquiti UniFi AP IW HD (In Wall) is an 802.11ac Wave2 MU-MIMO access point that is ideal for hospitality or multi-room deployments. The UAP-IW-HD provides 4x4 MIMO at 5GHz and 2x2 MIMO at 2.4GHz for a combined PHY rate of 2033Mbps. Easy customisation and options for Guest Portals include authentication, Hotspot setup, and the ability to use your own external portal server. PoE+ input is required to use PoE passthrough. Connect this port to a UniFi Switch with PoE that is connected to your LAN and DHCP server.Build wireless networks as big or small as needed; start with one and expand to thousands while maintaining a single unified management system. I would like for the AP to penetrate to the outdoors to support a Ring doorbell, so signal strength is important. From most of what I've read, the Pro seems like the strongest on paper. The Pro is stronger per Jardin's sheet which includes speeds and signal strengths for the Pro and the HD, but maybe the HD works better with lower signal strengths? The HD has Wave 2 support and MU-MIMO, which is theoretically better for multiple clients and higher speeds at 5GHz. Looking at the Ubiquiti radiation patterns, it looks like the Pro is the most powerful? The HD has more antennas per the datasheet. But it is hard to understand how much this all matters in a home environment.

Superior Processing Power The UniFi IW HD AP is capable of complex operations (guest control, filtering, and other resource-intensive tasks) that may slowdown a lesser-equipped AP. Four ports are available for bridging – one of which offers PoE passthrough when the AP is powered by an 802.3at PoE+ switch.
