About this deal

Take a look at our quick list instead, which has all the positives and negatives of our favourite kettles that we've tested neatly summed up. We were impressed with this kettle’s speed, which was on a par with that of the Cuisinart CPK-17 in boiling time (it took about 4 minutes to heat a liter of water). The kettle boiled water quickly, which is great, but the opening is quite small, which would make filling and cleaning somewhat of challenge, but that challenge was made all the worse by the fact that the handle is fixed, it doesn’t rotate off to the side, so you need particularly small hands to get into it and you need to fill it at an angle. A great pick for speciality tea drinkers, this sleek kettle comes with a range of temperature settings (40C, 85C, 95C and 100C) and looks attractive on the counter. It has a removable mesh strainer over the spout, which might be helpful if you wish to brew tea directly inside it (though most tea experts don’t recommend making tea this way).

It has one small chip on the lid and the tiniest bit of rust on the end of the spout, but overall is in very good nick. As with the Hamilton Beach we really liked having the temperature presets in such an inexpensive package, however the actual temperature readings came in a little off (209°F on the boil setting, 205°F on the 200°F setting). Extremely Powerful 5G EMF orgonite protection necklace, Solar quartz Crystal pendant with 18k Gold !

We haven’t experienced this issue with the kettle we’ve been long-term testing, even with regular use, or with the ones we use in the staff kitchen in Wirecutter’s offices. Be aware, though, that some parts of the handle are metal, which means they get very hot as the kettle boils. Like the buttons on the Cuisinart CPK-17, each preset button on the Breville IQ is marked with both the temperature and the beverage it’s used for (French press or black tea, for example). This kettle also impressed during testing thanks to how easy it would be for the less mobile to use, with hot water at the touch of a button. The kettle performed consistently and accurately during temperature tests and the slender spout yielded a nice, even pour. You may think that an electric kettle is exclusively useful for making a batch of coffee or several cups of tea. litres, enough to fill around 7-8 cups depending on your ‘portion sizes’, and it boiled a litre of water in just over two minutes.
