Magento Connect Searching

Postby edmondscommerce » Fri Sep 18, 2009 10:25 am

How rubbish is it that the Magento Connect section of the site doesn't have any search functionality any more??

in fact they dumped all their searches onto Google - great..

I knocked up this simple search form to help narrow your searches to just Magento Connect

http://www.edmondscommerce.co.uk/stuff/magento-connect-search.html

The principle is really simple and you don't really need the form, just add
Code: Select all
inurl:magento-connect/list site:magentocommerce.com

onto the end of your google search. Alternatively just use the tool :)

Here is the URL of the search query "Donation"
http://www.google.com/search?q=donation&q=+++++++++++inurl%3Amagento-connect%2Flist+site%3Amagentocommerce.com+
The result query is "donation inurl:magento-connect/list site:magentocommerce.com"
As you can see unnecessary spaces are added after the keyword.

Can you check what's wrong with your tool?

Btw, great idea. It can be helpful :)
Thanks.

spaces are intentional and dont affect the query, its just to separate out the auto added query params and the user query params
