About this deal

Marc Lee of The Daily Telegraph scored the film five out of five stars, writing, "Burton's modern fairytale has an almost palpably personal feel: it is told gently, subtly and with infinite sympathy for an outsider who charms the locals but then inadvertently arouses their baser instincts.

As a comic book artist who works within the horror genre he was purposely picked up for this project due to his Burton-esque style; which you can see has been translated throughout the comic. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review! The Final Cut’ encompasses all 10 issues from the series, which are also available as two graphic novels, ‘Parts Unknown’ and ‘Whole Again’. As for the story itself it’s important to first note that Parts Unknown is not a re-telling of the film’s plot but is actually a sequel. Not just because it obviously has Edward in it, but also the complete feel of the novel was almost the same for me. However, the graphic novels and the individual issues give you the opportunity to see more of Rausch’s fantastic artwork, so they are also worth picking up. Kim leaves her jock boyfriend (Jim) to be with Edward, an event that many have postulated as Burton's revenge against jocks he encountered as a teenager in suburban Burbank, California. Besides his scary looks, he’s a very sensitive boy that ends up falling in love with a girl named Kim.

Don't forget to check back here tomorrow to read my review of Edward Scissorhands Volume 2: Whole Again! The mythos of the monster/man fit neatly into the story’s visuals and compel readers to dig into the story even though it follows a predictable path. The show then played a six week Christmas season at Sadler's Wells before heading to Woking, Nottingham, Liverpool, Norwich, Birmingham, Milton Keynes, Bradford and Southampton before wrapping up in Cardiff after 18 weeks on tour. Don’t get me wrong, taken as a whole I thoroughly enjoyed Edward Scissorhands, I am just drawn more towards the darkness, and for me the artwork in the second half of ‘The Final Cut’ was a touch too colourful.

When we first step back in to the slightly warped suburban setting that was Edward’s home, we pick up somewhat later than when the movie left off. As Edward tries to fix a grave mistake, he comes face-to-face with a teenage girl who was sure he was only myth… despite the stories her grandmother told her about the man she could never touch. When we are reintroduced to Edward, it is through the curiosity of Megan Boggs, Kim’s granddaughter.

In 2015, IDW Publishing released a ten-issue series revealing the next time Edward Scissorhands would have new friends in his life. This hilarious work places the most famous nineteenth-century ballet showstopper ‘Pas De Quatre’ in the world of men’s underwear advertising. I enjoyed the characters and I am definitely looking forward to learning more about them in the next volume. When she meets Edward, he tells her that he has made a mistake, which is causing quite a stir in the town. Edward Scissorhands is not one of my favorite films and I didn't realize I was interested in the aftermath of the film until I saw this comic existed.Burton was impressed with her short novel, First Born, which was "about an abortion that came back to life". The sky is blue, pink and yellow and you can see the sun just peaking out behind two characters standing silhouetted in the heart. Questo salto temporale inizialmente disorienta un po’, ma presto si riesce ad addentrarsi nella trama agevolmente. When he was sent the script, Depp "wept like a newborn" and immediately found personal and emotional connections with the story.
