The Beat is remarkably versatile, part of Burberry’s revamp of their brand to reach a younger, hipper demographic while still appealing to their more classic and refined crowd. As I mentioned earlier, I think Hero can be worn for pretty much any occasion, casually or professionally — year-round (just modulate your sprays depending on the situation/temperature).The Beat is the latest feminine perfume from Burberry, and in keeping with the iconic brand's ongoing efforts to stay trendy and of the moment, it is aimed (what else is new) at a young audience: Hero is an EDT and is light and airy, and projects mildly off the skin (say, half an arm’s length) for up to 1-2 hours, then sits courteously close to the skin — giving off nice, gentle wafts when you move about. By the way, it makes for an absolute killer office scent, as it has a professional vibe to it. Modern & Minimalistic So many reviewers are saying that this fragrance is too harsh and too peppery, I find this fragrance more spicy than peppery. Perhaps it is just the way my nose perceives this fragrance. I also get a lot of violet and sweet, juicy fruits.

When to Wear It The inspiration for Burberry's The Beat for Men, according to Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey, was music, specifically the music of the bands Razorlight, the Fratellis, Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian. “ I think there is so much crossing over between creative mediums,” said Bailey. “ Art, design, fashion, music — they all feed off each other and inspire each other. So I sat with the perfumers and gave them a ton of music. I think it’s a bit lazy to say, ‘The guy is 18 to 25, lives in that type of house…’ I don’t care how old or how young the guy is. It’s the attitude, and what taste the direction goes in. So the perfumers listened to the music as they were creating the fragrance, and they got it instantly.”* There is also an "Elixir Parfum" version. It's a richer scent, with a heavier concentration of iris (you can smell the iris as soon as you spray it on) and a deeper, smokier tea note. The bluebell is there but less prominent, and the base, while still largely pale and cool, is warmer and earthier. It isn't carnal or wild either, but nor is it young and cheerful and clean. And suitable for all seasons (just adjust your sprays)… But where it truly shines is in the summer.This is not a super-masculine cologne; it walks the line of unisex. That said, the woods and pepper keep it on the masculine side. Let me tell you how it smells… Semi-Sweet, Clean Freshness I was a little confused at first when I smelt The Beat for Men. I was certain that I'd accidently sprayed a female fragrance instead. The scent was so sweet, with a touch of spice, woods and citrus. I now know that I hadn't been mistaken.

This is super safe and versatile: dressed up, dressed down, all ages, and just about all occasions. Perfect for the office and casual wear. And hat’s off to Burberry… this is perfectly blended and smells natural. And in my opinion, is one of the best tobacco fragrances on the market. Cool Weather This is super versatile: all ages, all seasons, any occasion. That said… it’s more suited for the spring and summer. Then, after about 10 minutes… the lemon is joined with a fresh grapefruit and fruity pineapple accord. The result?Mr Burberry Indigo opens with a blast of fresh lemon citrus and spearmint. The spearmint smells bright and super authentic.
