About this deal

This Col-Max Model 555, in Don Colston’s collection, is a 500 cp model dated Jan ’58 and Made in Canada. Like the examples of Model 333 above, this 555 has an alcohol preheater cup.

After clearing his name the former boxer turned his hand to writing and published a book about his unbelievable life. Undefeated as a boxer, Marsh took that tag as the title of his autobiography, although Marsh, ever the perfectionist, had a few grumbles about the book when we last spoke. While Coleman embossed 237 lanterns for the CPR (Canadian Pacific Railway), they did not do so for the CNR (Canadian National Railway). These 237 lanterns are stenciled CNR, presumably in railroad maintenance shops. The lantern on the left and lower is date stamped October, 1948, and is in Claude Ruel’s collection while the lantern on the right is date stamped January, 1952, and is in Agostino Del Coro’s collection. The globe on the lantern on the left is a replacement. The 58-year-old arrogantly thought he would get away with it. However, the East Yorkshire beast was jailed for 22 years at Newcastle Crown Court. Read More Related Articles Marsh does not overly dwell on his dramatic acquittal at the Old Bailey, and shows little triumph that his eventual libel action against Frank Warren went ahead, resulting in what could be best described as a narrow points victory. Instead, the impression is left of a man who appreciated the simple things in life all the more for nearly losing them. With his failing health and unsteadiness on his feet, there is no clue the Mormon church member was once a twisted pervert who targeted young children.

Marsh’s win over Manley took place in a circus tent in Basildon, Marsh feels that this was the pinnacle of his career, the finishing line. “There was the world title win”, he said, “but then there was what I would class as the defence—the lap of honour. I must admit that, for me, the world title win was the winning post. I never imagined getting that far. I thought I had done well. But on this occasion I was in a rush because I had a hospital appointment. I went there to get my ballot paper, still didn’t want to vote for anyone so went to leave and it caused this cacophony of shouting.” Barnsley Chop, Dora Jarr, Lou Smorrels, Noah Vail and Edna Cloud were also regular contributors to the programme, deliberately choosing their pseudonyms as a play on words. What had happened, it had gone in my chest and I was standing at an angle and thankfully it went through my lung - and I lost half a lung - and came out. To the outside world, he was a churchgoing and frail pensioner but 87-year-old Thomas Reed's sordid secret as a predatory paedophile was finally exposed. You get lunatics, don't you? The Pope got shot, Ronald Reagan got shot. It happens, doesn't it? It just happens. This Model 395 hotplate is undated but it was made by The Coleman Co. after WWII as Model 391A above. Joe Pagan restored this 3 burner stove which is in his collection. The master burner is on the left; each burner on the right has its own control knob. This lantern is stamped 228D on the collar and has the features that one finds on other 220/228D’s of the mid 1940’s including the large valve wheel, two-piece stamped burner, and “D” version of the instruction decal. However, this lantern, in Jim Lawrence’s collection, is date stamped B 46 (July – Dec. 1946); compare to the date range for Models 220C and 228C above. Two 344 burners were installed in each case to make one model 345 kerosene fueled stove (upper image). The generators used in the 344 burner are the obvious part difference from the 347 burners above. This Model 345 is in John Morris’ collection. Because he was in a rush to get to a hospital appointment, Mr Marsh claims he resorted to “reasonable force” to extract himself from the situation.

Wogan was noted for the amount of holiday leave he took, and had numerous presenters cover his absence over the years.I didn't realise, I suddenly felt this gurgling in my throat and because obviously the blood through my lungs had got into my throat. The Toronto factory made their 220F from 1970-73 (Denis Gosselin) before replacing it with newer models that had two-piece pressed steel burners, and a different fuel-air delivery system in a compactly designed lantern. They also made short production runs in February 1970 that were finished in red, in addition to green finished lanterns, as seen here. Someone marked the box graphic (right image) by erroneously changing the F to an E in the model number. This lantern is in Alex Fabiszewski’s collection.
