About this deal

Although Miko’s been trying her hardest to ignore all the creepy ghost things around her, now that Hana may be involved, she can’t pretend anymore. Nov 28 COVER Corporation Announces hololive English VTuber Gawr Gura Collaboration with Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium Now mind you the story while filled with ghastly ghost beings of various degrees of realism and strange shapes this is not entirely a horror story as those around Miko continue to live their lives regardless of Miko trying to keep her cool with strange things around her. In fact some of the best parts of the book that I enjoyed were not the very expressive character reactions or the monster like beings that fuel Miko's nightmares but the times when her ability to see ghosts turns out beneficial like when she and her friend find an abandoned kitten and find it a new home or a particular scene at the end of the book which was super touching. If you want to find out more I guess you will have to read it for yourself. :) The second is the power and the energy of monster designs. It’s hard to stress this enough, since commending monster designs in so par of the course with manga, I myself do it for many other works, but the monsters here are genuinely one of the best in the medium. The main qualities that distinguish them are:

Plus the main character, Mieruko-chan comes across as admirable and brave. She always seems to make the best choice in a given situation, and so, as a reader, you naturally admire her. Even the supporting cast is distinct. Her best friend, a younger brother and a rival. They support the story without ever being an annoyance. Miko sees dead people - although not her therapist, which is unfortunate because they might have helped - and some other stuff that Freud would have had a field day with. Nobody else does, however, so she does her best to ignore them, which is kind of difficult when spirits keep showing up in the most unfortunate places.Only that Sadako book keeps this from being the weirdest thing I read all week. I think this is meant to be a comedy, given most endings of the various chapters, and it’s amusing at points, but it’s also really bizarre. The stories follow a basic pattern of Miko hoping something doesn’t show up and then being discomfited when it inevitably does. Furthermore, while the manga is initially slicey, it has a plot. The major, overarching story is forming as of now, but in previous arcs the author has established a sturdy cast of characters with their own quirks and complex relationships, laid down hooks for suspense. Even the schoolgirl mains end up being relatable and human-like, without excessive schoolgirl fetishism. The girls are somewhat sexualized, the author likes to draw their bodies, but it’s not disrespectful or lecherous. If this wasn’t enough, Mieruko-chan takes the saying “don’t judge a book by its cover” and makes it relevant. The main characters might not be so complicated and developed, but that’s not the strongest point. What I can say is that the main girl has finally shown a little bit of progress, but that’s not what I want to talk about. The ghosts ARE the highlights of this specific department. Although they might look scary, some of them have emotions and a story behing their terrific appearance (some of them are also inspired by more famous monsters). Behind their appearances lies a meaning. This is when the saying “don’t judge a book by its cover” comes into play. Yeah, they are scary, but some of them are more than that, not every ghost that the main heroine will meet will try to kill her. So, is it a good ghost or is it a bad ghost? That’s something unpredictable and you will only know the answer at the end of the chapter. Lastly, the part that attracted me the most and got me to read this incredible manga: its art. The art style used for drawing the characters is one to be expected of a normal slice of life manga, with charming and soothing traits that make you think of having a good time reading a relaxing story about some everyday stuff. On the contrary, the monsters are gross-looking, surreal but so detailed that they almost look real at the same time, just like they should look like in a great horror themed painting. The greatness of the art shines when the two are shown together; the contrast gives off an atmosphere of darkness and despair hardly achievable with other techniques. Obviously, an all-realistic style is more fitting for an horror, but since the main objective of this manga is not to scare the reader, rather to make them feel uneasy, I believe that it achieves its purpose splendidly. a b c Hodgkins, Crystalyn (October 6, 2021). Were there any hurdles or special considerations you had to undertake to adapt MIERUKO-CHAN into an anime? Initially, the series started with a somewhat simple concept. Was it difficult to expand on that idea in the earlier episodes? Character - The main character is really cool. as more of a fact a badass. If I were in her shoes i'd lose my shit considering she is viewing some terrifying stuff. She makes brave faces and treats days as if it was normal. Mieruko-chan is one of a kind. A manga that shines brighter than most manga. It’s what we would call an hidden gem. It’s something you didn’t know you needed but were still looking for. First of all, let’s be clear that what I sad applies for horror fans. This is a love letter to all of us, bored with all of those what-so-called horror books, those that they never leave an impression to you, and you just give up on the genre. Ladies and Gentlmen, Mieruko-chan gave to all of us readers hope. So yeah, without further distractions, let’s get into it and see what’sMiko and Hana remain a great pairing, although Hana spends a substantial amount of time with Miko’s brother this time out and they’re a lot of fun too. He should know better than to trust Hana to have any idea where Miko might be, especially when she suggests something as ludicrous as a ‘donut crawl’. knowledge(pretty cool) to get the upper hand over the mysterious deaths. Most of the time she is searching for the root cause of the death(guessing what is about to happen) and trying to prevent it, you will be seeing a lot of that. She also has very poor social abilities, which makes her task of saving people even more difficult. found myself genuinely invested, as plotlines began to start and characters began to be established more thoroughly. I’m very scared of the “god” and his shrine maidens… now more than ever. I have a feeling that they’re up to something sinister… I wonder if Godmother will be able to help Miko learn some ways of protecting herself… this is a manga that starts off with one joke and a bizarrely leering camera, that eventually turns into something that is pretty good and interesting.
