About this deal

Two Mini-Z Evo receivers are included in this set and is ideal for those that might have multiple Mini-Z Evo models. Aux channels can be used to activate different flight modes, and control different peripherals on a quadcopter such as a lost model buzzer and LED light. With new technology being updated all the time the amount of functions and peripherals we can control from the transmitter are increasing every day. The Palatin is the latest offering in the Flysky premium lineup. It has many of the new features in the Nirvana but in a much more traditional style shell. It also supports the latest AFHDS 3 air protocol. Another point in favour of iBUS over SBUS is that the signal is un-inverted, so you are not required to invert the signal when using F1 and F4 boards as you do with SBUS. As you can see, failsafe is sometimes only available over specific protocols, depending in the RX. Failsafe is far more important than telemetry because it minimizes the chance of unexpected behavior in case of losing RX signal. Take the time to ensure that you are using a protocol that supports failsafe! So, which Flysky TX should you buy? tl;dr… Our first choice is the Flysky i6X

The FLYSKY NB4 Noble Pro AFHDS3 Surface Radio is the fastest and most stylish surface transmitter to date to come out of the FLYSKY stable. Not only does it look great with its sleek design and metal finish, but it also features fantastic flexibility and functionality, this makes it an excellent choice for car and boat users. The NB4 uses the latest third-generation enhanced Automatic Frequency Hopping Digital System (AFHDS3) RF technology which has an extra-low latency of down to 3ms. It supports an output of 18 channels with 2 of these outputs offering extreme speed. The older models in the FlySky RX range are prefaced with the letters ‘ iA‘ and are relatively large and heavy, weighing between 15 and 20 grams! As keeping weight down is critical in a mini quad, I have excluded the bulky options to focus on these lighter weight solutions.Another compact and light weight receiver option and with AFHDS2 protocol support. No telemetry, but supports both PPM and iBUS protocols. Compatible with popular radios such as the Turnigy Evolution, FlySky i6S. It also supports failsafe in iBUS. Support for 9 types of AFHDS3 receivers for 3 different applications (vehicles and boats): different number of channels (4CH—12CH), different sizes, two antenna types (built-in/external), different waterproof grades (PPX6/PPX74), gyroscope functions (GMR+GY01 /INr4-GYB), and built-in special functions (IBUS2 function, Newport function and BVD battery voltage detection function). Turn on the transmitter, enter [Sensor] then [Sensor List] and rotate the wheel. If the “Type” column displays “Temperature” and the [Value] column displays a temperature then the installation was successful, otherwise repeat the above steps. This receiver has autobind function – it always tries to bind automatically every time it is powered on.

Note: Micro RX often do not support PWM due to their limited physical size to provide sufficient space for the necessary solder pads. FlySky TX models For Mini Quad Disclaimer: this is NOT a sponsored post, we did not and will not get paid by Flysky for writing this guide. This article was created purely for the benefit of the FPV community, and with the hope that some people who have the passion but with a small budget can find a more affordable way to fly. The EU version, which is for the European market, this does not have the same range as the EN - US version, it's quite a bit less, due to British and E.U. lawsRX2A specs claim the longest range on this list, but considering the simplicity of the monopole antenna, fly out this distance at your peril! This guide is to advise which of the less up-to-date products to avoid and point out a few other common areas of confusion. I think that for FlySky, telemetry has been a bit of an afterthought, and when most newer FCs come with an integrated OSD, who can blame them if they are focussing sales towards the FPV market? In reality though telemetry can be considered one of the ‘bells and whistles’ I referenced earlier, and for the beginner is not a necessity by any means. Failsafe The upgraded version of the RX2A with longer range. It features better antennas with IPEX connectors so you can easily replace them. Failsafe is available with iBus. Just to point out for people who don't know, there are 3 versions of the Noble Pro, the EN version, EU version, and the Asian version.

The box is REALLY nice. Well made too and aluminium with a carbon fibre effect printed over it. Very sturdy but lightweight and does not wobble around or anything. The screen feels like it has been pulled from an early model mobile phone - 3.5 inches diagonally with 480 x 320 resolution TFT touch screen. It's bright enough in outdoor conditions (early summer here) and responds well to touch. It does the job it needs to well without being overspecced - for examples a 90Hz full HD+ screen would be wasted in this application.

The selection of RX that I have detailed above are the cream of what Flysky currently have to offer for mini quad and micro quads, but there are pro’s and con’s to each. Equipped with our newest RF technology, AFHDS 3, theFLYSKY Noble NB4 is now the most flexible option for cars and boats. Enable sports mode for extra low latency down to 3ms. Easy to view and use a color touch screen for changing system settings. The FCC high power firmware with a more reliable new RF library makes Noble Pro's range increased by 50 m* compared to NB4 (standard firmware). In comparing to other transmitters it is clearly a step up from the Flysky FS-GT5 I reviewed here and more on a level with premium race offerings like the 7PXR from Futaba and the M17 from Sanwa. I say this from a feature standpoint, latency and possibly build quality depending on how mine holds up. I know that my experience with the latest Flysky AFDHS3 protocol as used here that it is very good - provides telemetry and a very reliable control link so I'm not expecting any weakness here either. Realistically you will soon begin to feel limited if you only have 6 channels available, therefore we have only included TX’s with 6 channels or more. Flysky TX and RX Protocols FlySky provides the market with some of the most affordable radio control solutions available. The range is most suitable for people who are incapable of comprehending the addictive power of flying FPV mini quad… Sorry, I mean people who just want to ‘try it out’, and don’t require all the bells and whistles of something more expensive.
