About this deal

Externally very good indeed, internally a few spots of soiling and one or two spots of foxing generally to margins, but quite bright and clean. The original illustrations, always first-class, have been rendered outstanding by the wonderfully detailed addition of colour. Lewis tells his remarkable tales of the magical land of Narnia and its immortal inhabitants including Aslan the lion, Mr Tumnus the Faun and the evil White Witch. The Chronicles of Narnia is "unforgettable not only for the excitement and suspense of the adventures but also for the strong emotions they describe so well [and they are] further enriched by Lewis' skillful use of language" (Silvey, 406).

There is a neat signature on the Half Title of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, there are no other signatures, inscriptions, bookplates or markings in any of the other books. The book is new with a small nick on the edges of the front endpaper, gilt edges on the outer edges of the pages. A quantitative analysis on the imagery in the different books of The Chronicles gives mixed support to Ward's thesis: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Silver Chair, The Horse and His Boy, and The Magician's Nephew do indeed employ concepts associated with, respectively, Sol, Luna, Mercury, and Venus, far more often than chance would predict, but The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, and The Last Battle fall short of statistical correlation with their proposed planets. Peter, Edmund, and Lucy appear as Kings and Queens in Aslan's Country in The Last Battle; Susan does not.

S. Lewis’s classic fantasy series, which has been enchanting readers of all ages for over sixty years. With the help of the talking horse Bree, Shasta escapes from being sold into slavery and makes his way northward to Narnia. The Magician's Nephew' is internally clean and though 'The Last Battle' has a light crease to the front panel, it is also internally clean. All of our books are 100% brand new, unread and purchased directly from the publishers in bulk allowing us to pass the huge savings on to you! and published by Bodley Head in London on 2 May 1955, The Magician's Nephew serves as a prequel and presents Narnia's origin story: how Aslan created the world and how evil first entered it.

There are a couple near-imperceptible printing defects in the gilt for The Last Battle, likely due to one page being slightly larger than the rest.During the last days of Narnia, the land faces its fiercest challenge―not an invader from without but an enemy from within.

Trumpkin the Dwarf is the narrator of several chapters of Prince Caspian; he is one of Caspian's rescuers and a leading figure in the "Old Narnian" rebellion, and accompanies the Pevensie children from the ruins of Cair Paravel to the Old Narnian camp. The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe 1962, 6th impression Light foxing to paste downs and to the outer side of the first end papers (nearest to the front and rear covers). The Silver Chair: Jill and Eustace set out to find King Caspians lost son, and in the grim land of the Earthmen they encounter the wicked Green Lady.Turning off the personalised advertising setting won’t stop you from seeing Etsy ads, but it may make the ads you see less relevant or more repetitive. An academic, poet, and lay theologian (among other things), Lewis’s use of religious themes intertwined with classic mythology and fairy tales has made the series popular with adults as well as children, much like Lewis’s good friend, J.
