About this deal

It’s normally dated by a couple years and there’s always some mention of something like “Leroy Jenkins'', “get pwned”, or maybe some inaccurate ‘1337speak’ tossed in there that makes me want to blow my brains out every time I see it. Its on one hand a very lifeless manga with no sense of direction for almost half of it, but on the other hand almost all of that content has been quite enjoyable. So for good 60 chapters there's some slice of life, comedy, exposition how advanced aliens with great, doraemon-grade tech are actually powerless and defenseless against brute humans. As the successor to Goodnight Punpun in Asano's catalog, Dededede is unfortunately aggressed with a subconscious mindset of constant comparison. The designs compliment the backgrounds very well and they feel natural when facial comedy is used on a character.

A tiring, mostly boring story which when almost at the end decided to go 270 degrees on the spiral-axis, trying to be smart, and being just annoying and flat.

It's about the coping mechanisms that humans utilize when faced with more thoughts than they can handle at one time. Story wise, its pretty chill, its about two girls trying to live life and get into college while dealing with changing situations in their life. It has also been published in Spanish by Norma Editorial since October 29, 2015, in German by Tokyopop since May 12, 2016, and in Italian by Planet Manga since March 3, 2017.

Dededede plays with comedy, slice-of-life, sci-fi, and drama, which are fused together beautifully in this melting pot of a manga. Other works by Asano include Hikari no Machi (City of Light), Nijigahara Holograph, and Umibe no Onna no Ko (A Girl on the Shore). Even Oran, who seems to be the most contrived in personality, is developed in a clever way, negating her character of any criticism I could give. Whole premise of two highschool girls being friends, going trough earliest stages of adulthood in a world, where there's a huge UFO hovering over the capital city of Japan is a big lie.

The storyline here is like cancer caution warnings on the pack of smokes - no one cares, not even the smokes makers! However, despite her seemingly flamboyant and sociable personality, Ouran tends to only show her true self to her friends and family. Hey and welcome to Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction, where everything's made up, and the storyline don't matter!

Rather than trying to appeal to the demographic, Asano approaches this, and most of the comedy in this manga, with a caustic and exaggerated tone. In the end it all felt like a very elaborate critique of Japanese society, bound by strict rules, expectations, social ladder, and so on. Characters [ edit ] Kadode Koyama ( 小山 門出, Koyama Kadode) Voiced by: Lilas Ikuta [4] A girl in her third year of high school.Tone of jokes doesn't resonate, events don't intrigue, drama doesn't grip and mentioned finale is weak attempt at mentioned "Evangelion" or perhaps even "Akira". I think it was a completely necessary decision, or else the manga would visually play like any other Asano manga. Which could be done with finesse and not with cornflakes made out of concrete and asbestos, dipped in sewage water. The main two characters, Kadode and Oran, are enjoyable personalities who offer an interesting perspective on the world.

Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction ( Japanese: デッドデッドデーモンズデデデデデストラクション, Hepburn: Deddo Deddo Dēmonzu Dededede Desutorakushon), also abbreviated as DDDD, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Inio Asano. Its a decent manga with an enjoyable concept and characters but that's about what it really is, other than that its a lot of potential sent to the trash can, and the ending was pure garbage. The artwork and art style is amazing, combining the style of Asano's previous works with a newer more abstract style that adds to the strange context of the story.

The manga has also been licensed in Brazil by Editora JBC, [17] in France by Kana, [18] in Spain by Norma Editorial, [19] in Germany by Tokyopop, [20] and in Italy by Panini Comics. Now, and this was the moment I flipped my table, jumped out the window and howled like elk with broken leg, time travel concept is introduced. EditBackground Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction was published in English by VIZ Media under the VIZ Signature imprint from April 17, 2018 to April 18, 2023. Later GX published his series Subarashi Sekai, available in English from Viz Media as What a Wonderful World!
