About this deal

Why is antifreeze called that? Anti (against) Freeze (freeze). This is often the name for all anti-freezing fluids used in cars. Unlike antifreeze, antifreeze has a lower crystallization temperature. G12+ is compatible with VW and Audi models, where G11 or G12 are the OEM-recommended coolants. Mostly models from 1994 – 2000. It ensures a reliable protection of metals and alloys (brass, copper, alloy-treated steel, cast iron, aluminium) from all forms of corrosion, as well as prevents a high-temperature corrosion of aluminium surfaces of modern engines; My advice would be to drain the coolant and refill it with G12+ or ++. The G12 is specifically designed to keep the coolant lines clean and not introduce anything that can cause corrosion of any of the parts touched by the coolant. I wouldn't trust anything else to perform as well.

G-12 and the newer versions = A cylinder head that could be 100's of thousands of miles old and look brand new on the inside. DING! DING! DING! The WINNER! Coolant is the cooling fluid for the engine. It has a high boiling temperature and is made up of water and additives to lubricate the pump as well as other CO elements. What is the meaning of antifreeze? The owner’s manual of your car will explain the optimal sort of coolant to use for your car. The information you require can probably be found online if you don’t have a copy of your owner’s handbook. The formulae recommended by your dealer and in your owner handbook are presumably original equipment manufacturer (OEM) approved, but you may also be able to find aftermarket versions. What Is Coolant Made Of Engine coolant is made up of propylene glycol, or ethylene glycol, and its own additives. There are three different types of antifreeze: G11, G12, and G13. So what are the differences between the three? G11 is blue or green and is made up of a silicate base that contains inorganic additives. G11 coolant is mainly used in vehicles manufactured before 1996, however, some vehicles up to 2016 could use G11 coolant because of its low heat transfer quality. This coolant has a service life of 3 years. The G12 is red or pink. It has carboxylate and ethylene glycol. It can be used in high-performance engines with 90 to 110 operating temperatures.Good to know, however I would not put DexKill in any car. The cooling system problems Chevy and GMC cars have that do use DexKill are just amazing. Just like motor oil, engine coolant also provides some lubrication to the internal components. When the consistency isn’t right or there’s not enough fluid, friction can occur. G13 coolant additive provides the same exceptional cooling and antifreeze performance as G12++, but is manufactured in an environmentally sustainable way, using glycerin instead of glycol. Glycerin, a bi-product of biodiesel production, is much less harmful to the environment than glycol-based products, which are produced from mineral oil. In comparison with the manufacture of traditional coolant additive, it is estimated that G13 production will produce 11 per cent lower CO2 emissions. Most often G12 is sold as a concentrate with a “-78 °” or “-80 °” mark, so you need to calculate the amount of coolant in the system and dilute it with distilled water. The ratio of water to antifreeze will be indicated on the label.

G12 coolant is OEM-approved used in VW and Audi vehicles. However, the product has been discontinued. This makes many VW owners switch to equivalent options. BASF makes the G40. It is the same with theG12 ++. The flushing out the system before you change it over. Can You Mix G12 With Regular Antifreeze? What is antifreeze used for? It is the working fluid of the car engine cooling system. It has a high boiling point and consists of water and additives that lubricate the pump and other CO elements. This film is made only in places that have been damaged by rust. The antifreeze G12 is used in high-speed engines, and it has an operating temperature of 90 to 110 degrees; the G12 coolant has only one problem. Its anti-corrosion properties will appear only in the presence of rust.

The original G12EVO Ready Mix coolant additive is specially designed for the engines of the VW Group’s brands.

the shelf life does not exceed 3 years, regardless of the mileage. During operation, the protective layer becomes thinner, these pieces, getting to the coolant, lead to its accelerated wear, as well as damage to the water pump; As a result, ethylene glycol, an antifreeze, is typically added (if you’re unsure about the process, head over to our write-up on how to put coolant in your car) to water to reduce its freezing point to a safe level. The antifreeze shouldn’t be drained every summer as it often lasts for two to three years. Engine Coolant OAT coolants require certain additives be added to the systems to provide tailored system requirements. MB uses an additive system located in the reservoir... That's why the reservoir is replaced at 150,000 miles, these use G-05 or an OAT type coolant (yellow).
