Participants were female educators in Canada, most of whom were of European descent and some of whom were not in full-time classroom teaching positions, thus the findings are not generalizable to a broader, more diverse sample of educators. Moreover, the findings may reflect western, settler-colonial perspectives such as a romanticized view of nature as a place where children can be free and wild (Hull, 2000; Taylor, 2017).
