About this deal

Dental treatment: Tooth whitening can cause temporary sensitivity. Professional cleaning and fillings can also lead to sensitivity. Sensodyne is known for its sensitivity toothpastes, but they use two different active ingredients: stannous fluoride or potassium nitrate. I have included Sensodyne Daily Care here as it is one of the cheapest potassium nitrate containing toothpastes. GC Tooth Mousse Pluscontains RECALDENT®* (CPP-ACP) which is derived from cow's milk. GC Tooth Mousse Plusalso contains hydroxybenzoates. Do not use this product if you have a suspected or proven allergy to milk proteins, benzoate preservatives or soybean derivative. In case of an allergic reaction: stop use, rinse mouth with water and seek medical advice.Contains soybean derived products. Always read the label. Follow the instructions for use. If symptoms persist, talk to your healthcare professional. The overnight home application of GC Tooth Mousse Plusis not recommended for children under the age of 12. Do not swallow GC Tooth Mousse Plus. Do not use except on the advice of a dentist. Strontium chloride doesn’t treat the root cause of the sensitivity and so you may develop tooth sensitivity again in the future. I’ve rounded up a whole list of non-mint toothpastes below, and you can see which ones don’t contain fluoride below. Some popular options include:

We have then included a further list of toothpastes that we have confirmed with manufacturers to be truly non-mint, and a separate list of pastes that contain traces of mint. GC MI Paste Plus™ is a water-based creme containing RECALDENT™. Recaldent™ is gotten from the milk protein, casein. For a long time, it has been realized that milk and its subordinates have a tooth defensive impact. Research has demonstrated that this action is because of a piece of the casein protein called Casein Phosphopeptide (or CPP), which helps to restore minerals in teeth. Recaldent toothpaste restores enamel Using a sensitive toothpaste may not be necessary if you only experience occasional sensitivity, but it is generally safe and effective. The main downside is that they tend to be more expensive than a regular toothpaste. The calcium and phosphate in RECALDENT™ are known to help strengthen tooth enamel, reduce sensitivity, and buffer plaque acid

Where to buy

It is designed to be used in addition to regular toothpaste to help manage sensitivity. Ideally you brush with toothpaste and then apply the crème with your finger and an interdental brush to get between the teeth. Different toothpastes do have different active ingredients for sensitivity. You need to give them a couple of weeks to see if they do have an effect. Avoid over brushing. Being mindful of how you brush to make sure you do not press too hard with the brush. Using an electric toothbrush with a pressure sensor can help to monitor this.

Tooth Mousse is fluoride free, but contains a specialist ingredient called Recaladent. This CCP-ACP is a way to get calcium and phosphate to the tooth which will prevent tooth decay. It also helps prevent tooth sensitivity. The Deep Clean variety is a gel as opposed to a paste, and additional ingredients compared to the original flavour include Pentasodium Triphosphate and SLS! The following is a list of toothpastes that are not mint flavoured, but do still contain mint trace in the form of oils or aromas.

If you are getting a lot of sensitivity from one tooth I would recommend you see a dental professional who can exclude any problems with the tooth. They might also be able to offer treatments, depending on the cause of the sensitivity, such as applying a professional varnish, or repairing the tooth with filling material. Any advice I give is without assessing you and doesn’t replace advice given by your own dentist. To still get the anti-cavity benefits of your mint free toothpaste, make sure it still has fluoride in its list of ingredients.

GC Tooth Mousse

GC MI Paste Plus is designed to provide extra protection for teeth and neutralise internal and external acid sources. For night time protection boosting the levels of bio-available calcium, phosphate and fluoride ions needed for remineralisation and prevention. The secret of GC Tooth Mousse is base on Recaldent™. This ingredient, derived from the milk protein, casein, has a tooth protective effect. Research has shown that this activity is due to a part of the casein protein called Casein Phosphopeptide (or CPP), which carries calcium and phosphate ions in the form of Amorphous Calcium Phosphate (or ACP).* In our list of recommended options, we have included truly non-mint toothpastes that do not contain traces of mint (apart from the high-street recommendation, Colgate Kids Mild Fruit). Fluoride is a vital ingredient to toothpaste, and only toothpastes which contain fluoride will normally be recommended by dentists.
