I definitely wouldn’t condone some of the things that happened in the book, but it made sense to the characters and the story. There’s a reason Sam is my go-to, my unicorn, one of my all time favs- her heroes will forever have a chokehold on me…and sick or not, I welcome it- I liked it. It’s a long scene, the size of around 6 to 7 of my regular chapters, and it’s only available in Surrender. Then there’s a knock at the door, he says it must be room service, but the story cuts off before he gets to the door.

No matter the challenging circumstances and regardless of dire needs (begging to be satisfied), this guy seems to have surrendered his whole life to the cause of keeping his word. Villains aren’t supposed to win, and good should always conquer evil, but in the elite coastal town I live in, the only purpose a label has is letting you know what something— or someone—costs.

Their self-aware and unapologetic- they more than accept their twistedness, rather, they expect everyone else to adapt to their needs and methods- including the heroine. While I hate to apply abnormal — a word for anything that doesn’t fit someone's current understanding of the world — to anything book-related, somehow it feels right here. If you require content warnings, please make sure to read the author’s note at the beginning of the book.

I couldn't get enough of him, and i f nothing I've said thus far has put you off, you'll probably feel the same. His relationship with Aubrey is as unhealthy as it can come- and what a marvelously delicious portrayal. You breathe, you eat, you have a rape kit done just in case but you don't make a report ( Dare merely didn't want Aubrey to be torn apart in a court room. Stitches got an anniversary edition this year (which includes the short story featuring our throuple that is in A Valentine’s Day Treat so you have all the Seb/Moira/Griff words all in one place).Get good grades, stay busy with clubs, don’t forget to carve out time for Mom and Hannah, and most importantly, stay far, far away from Landon Atwater. Like many of SM's books, this is mostly told in the h's POV, but the few/key chapters in the H's POV make a difference.
