About this deal

Speaking of cool stuff, Helbrecht’s new model is awesome, and his rules live up to it; he’s a beefy 8-wound boy and he hits like a train when he reaches combat. Whether he makes it in competitive lists depends on whether that melee potential can be realised, but GW have at least had a very good go at making it worth trying, and in a rare bit of foresight his default Warlord trait is a good one, so you can even go ahead and make him your actual-factual Warlord if you want to without lumbering yourself with something pointless. As for the right half, we get a lot more heads, shoulders, and some auxiliary bits. But the notable things here are those new ranged weapons, the Sword Brother’s sword, and the primaries neophytes as well. Primaris Emperor’s Champion Something to note here, the Beast Snagga box had new 26 models inside, while the BT box will come with 13 miniatures, 12 of which are new releases.

You better believe that it’s also bursting with rules, including bespoke Detachment Abilities, Stratagems, Warlord Traits, Litanies of the Devout, Relics, Crusade rules, special Characters, and six unique unit Datasheets.I’m not a regular Warhammer 40,000 player anymore but the rules seem solid here, nothing broken but not too weak either. The army are close combat beasts and the newly improved High Marshal Helbrecht helps show that off. Look at his revamped Sword of the High Marshals! All characters and close combat units are so good when they’re in your opponent’s face. Being able to creep onto an objective is also a great combo with one of the standout new stratagems, Strength of Conviction. For one CP, in your command phase, a CORE unit gains Objective Secured until the start of your next command phase. This is incredible– handing out ObSec is always good, and the timing on this means that when you have to choose to activate it you’ll have perfect information as to whether it’s going to add to your scoring in the moment. Using it to mess with your opponent’s scoring takes a bit more planning, but if you’re about to send your Bladeguard or Vanguard Veterans off to mess with your opponent’s stuff it can be very worth pulling the trigger on this.

Primaris Master of the Forge, March of the Ancients, Heir of Sigismund – Epitome of Piety – 100, 1CP The Tomb Kings, held together by the sorcerous will of their Lich Priest head coach, might leave much to be desired in the technical department, but they more than make up for it with plenty of raw undead strength. This is the Crusader sprue and you get two identical of these. As you can see there are plenty of bits so these are not the ETB style. IF you can see inside the chest there, you can see the numbering on the bits themselves.

The Black Templars 40k Army Box Release Has Flopped…

Helbrecht: Primaris Helbrecht is hilariously over the top, instantly one of the deadliest killers in the 41st millenium – as it should be. Sometimes it’s better to wait for a little to actually start collecting an army because there will be multiple waves of things, FAQs, etc… We’re not a hundred percent sure why it didn’t sell as well as the other boxes, but it is something to keep an eye on. It is pretty cool though when you open the box and you see this old-school artwork right away. Hefting a customised combi-flamer and Power Axe, and modelled directly from theskull-shoulderedTemplar character in the middle ground of John Blanche’s famous artwork described above, this Castellan miniature is perhaps the Templariest Templar model GW has created. Assorted decorations, including purity seals, honour scrolls, candles, martyrs’ bones, lanterns, icons, and what looks like a Holy Hand Grenade…

Games Workshop revealed its new Primaris Chaplain Grimaldus model, complete with revamped sculpts for the named character’s three attendant, relic-carrying Cenobyte Servitors, on September 27. Vanguard Veterans. Pretty much same again, with the added bonus of being ideal delivery mechanisms for Psalm of Remorseless Persecution. The two defensive options and the Holy Orb are all bargains that should be in the conversation for the vast majority of Templar lists that get built, and the other options here certainly aren’t bad, making this section a smash hit. Litanies of the Devout Warhammer Community previewed these earlier in the week, showing off Abhor the Witch, Destroy the Witch and Accept Any Challenge, No Matter the Odds: Uphold the Honour of the Emperor: The splashiest of the Templar Vows, providing one of the most exciting army-wide abilities in the whole edition.
