About this deal

What could have been insightful and funny on the first go-around starts to feel less and less so with each subsequent outing, especially when they don't dig very deep past the surface. I told myself that it’s what happens when a couple has been together for so long, but I can’t help but think there’s more to it. When he talks with Hugo, they realize that perhaps it’s possible there are more Husks that could be saved and that the Manager misled Hugo by making him think that they were lost causes. Hugo explains that the creature is Cameron, who is a ghost that ran away and became a Husk, which is what happens if you disintegrate and lose your humanity.

They may open it, but it is impossible to enter, as the Whispering Lady (which the model for is simply a box) is floating in mid-air, blocking the way. Quirk and charm give way to a serious exploration of the dangers of complacency in this delightful, thought-provoking Orwellian fantasy from Klune. This is just one person’s opinion in one little review, and as much as I’d like to have enjoyed this with you all (really, I swear! Mei thinks Nancy must have minor spiritual powers since Nancy managed to track Lea’s ghost down at the tea house. The recently deceased Wallace doesn’t just meet Hugo and Mei, who are two very much alive human beings who happen to have some magical abilities. As bisexual Wallace goes through the “shock, denial, anger and acceptance” stages of grief over his own death, he befriends all four of the residents, notably Hugo, who is gay. Also, if you’re someone who cares about world-building in novels, there is a lot of hand-waving when it comes to the mechanics and rules of this world. This quest is only available once the Dragonborn reaches level 20 and the quest " Dragon Rising" has been completed. He then meets his reaper, who has come to take him to a ferryman, who will help his soul cross over.

While the messages this novel tries to impart are probably all things that you’ve heard before, it’s always nice to have a reminder of these type of well-meaning thoughts, especially when they are delivered in an entertaining package such as this. He’s having trouble finding work,” Patricia said, crumpling up her tissue before reaching for another. It was a treat to read, and I think this is another story that will convert new readers to TJ and queer romance into huge fans. Upon being introduced to the Cameron character, a soul who had completely lost the tether to his humanity, unable to cross over into the afterlife, I quickly and correctly guessed almost exactly how the book would end. The story did have a lot of humor, but unlike soooooo many of TJ's previous books, I wouldn't say that there were any truly hilarious parts, which I live for when reading this author. It is also possible to wait for Farengar to go to sleep, then kill him and take the key from his corpse. That said, if you’ve already read Cerulean Sea and liked it, the yes, I’d recommend giving this one a shot. And to have you sense something was wrong and ask me to come in here so that I could vent means more to me than you will ever know. I have an intense love for TJ Klune and have enjoyed everything I've read by him up until this point but this book just wasn't it.
