About this deal

I purchased the T 4 Version as I had read so many reviews and watched vidieos of this machine and I can testify it lives up to its name , Very well packaged with very comprehesnive instructions on all aspects of sharpening tools in your invantory . I bought this for my wood turning tools and chisels along with the wood turners jig kit and the hand tool kit. The universal support bar has a micro-adjuster, which makes setting up or replicating a sharpening angle easy and highly accurate. As opposed to a standard dry grinder, certainly a wet stone sharpening system remains cooler and makes it next to impossible to overheat and burn your tools.

The robust and powerful motor design in Ultra wet grinders makes it possible to handle full loads without affecting peak performance. The universal device provides flexibility for sanding a wide variety of tools, while the corrosion-free water tank cools the workpiece. During sanding, water is slowly supplied to the cutting edge, preventing frictional heat and annealing of the disc. My main criticism is that when turning the unit round by the handle, its very easy to grab the water tank to steady the unit and this detaches very easily. Stirling Machinery has entered into partnership with CLTP Tasmania for Australia’s first plantation hardwood CLT (cross laminated timber) plant.Japanese chisels with their short shanks were problematic however; these would not work in the jig meaning they had to be ground freehand.

The Einhell wet sander TC-WG 200 is ideal for sharpening your tool without damaging the workpiece to be machined. Additionally, a wet stone wheel tends to be wider and allows for a more uniform edge on wider tools. Probably the Tormek T4 Water Cooled Tool Sharpening System is a stepped down version of Tormek’s T7 wet grinder. However the larger stone version, whilst running a more powerful motor with a steel housing is more expensive. With the ability to achieve these finishes, and more, it’s no surprise these tools are a household name for woodworkers. The Tormek T-4 is a high quality and compact sharpening machine, ideal for home and hobby work as well as professional use. Presented by: Wood-Mizer Australia Unlock the potential of your sawmill blade with these invaluable techniques to extend itsoperational lifespan, minimise disruptions, and effortlessly power through timber.

Sometimes you can’t find the information you’re looking for or maybe you require some help choosing the right item. My only gripe is leather honing wheel is different diameter to grindstone, so jig needs re-adjusting prior to honing. This results in higher fermentation rise making for softer and fluffier idlis and more numbers of them too. Because of these two factors, wet stone grinders tend to be a much better option for sharpening woodworking tools. The 200mm(8") diameter stone has the Tormek EzyLock mounting system for fast stone changes without a spanner. You get access to the extensive Tormek jig system and can sharpen all the common edge tools with highest precision.

Furthermore a 2-direction wet stone sharpening system that is durable and will get the job done, you can hardly beat the WEN 4270. The lower portion of the grindstone runs in a bath of water, this secures cooling and eliminates the risk of overheating. Also there are two plastic bushes in the jig that are a somewhat loose fit and could eventually fall out.The engineering is well thought out and this currant model the best so far, it gives you a really good edge I only wish I had one fifty years ago. Regardless of the grinder you choose don’t risk burning the edges of your precision woodworking tools with a dry stone grinder.
