[12] [13] Short story [ edit ] Charlie Higson interview with CommanderBond.net". The Charlie Higson CBn Interview. Archived from the original on 3 February 2007 . Retrieved 23 February 2005.It’s been 14 years and much has changed with the world, with publishing, with popular culture and literature. But Bond hasn’t changed. And people still want to read Bond books. Including me. The idea of a Young James Bond film has been brought up with the success of SilverFin, however Ian Fleming Publications at this point is hoping to release a few more books before possibly considering it. It has been believed the film rights to James Bond on film reside exclusively with Danjaq, LLC, the parent company of EON Productions; however, according to Charlie Higson this is not exactly the case. Since the release of the first novel, SilverFin, in 2005, the series has become very successful [3] and has led to further works including games, a graphic novel and a supplemental travel guide.

Higson was well-educated in his youth, attending the prestigious Sevenoaks School. He went on to study at the University of East Anglia. Interestingly enough, he met several fellow friends there, and his brother went on to teach there for over a decade. While studying at school, he formed a band with two friends of which he was the lead singer for six years. They even released two recorded singles. Most recently Charlie and Paul co-produced, and performed in, the controversial and award-winning spoof radio series Down the Line for BBC Radio 4. This later became the television comedy series Bellamy’s People, on BBC 2, inspired by the Radio series.

Double or Die (2007): The third Young Bond novel is set entirely in England during Christmas and finds James searching for a missing schoolmaster in the darkest corners of London. The book involves Russian spies attempting to build an early computer. The title of the book was chosen by fans via an online poll and kept secret until the day of publication. [5] The action of this entirely new 007 adventure brings Bond into the present day. It is the 4th of May, two days before the coronation of King Charles III and the world's favourite spy has his work cut out for him. Bond is sent at the last minute to thwart an attempt to disrupt the Coronation by the wealthy, eccentric and self-styled Athelstan of Wessex, who is on a deadly mission of his own to teach the United Kingdom a lesson. Can Bond dismantle his shady plans and defeat his privately hired team of mercenaries? Charlie also worked in different fields and jobs before moving onto writing full-time. He worked as a plaster worker and even turned to writing and performing comedy on stage. He achieved some measure of success and recognition when he became not only of the writers but performers on a popular sketch show airing on the BBC Two. The show aired for six years and was called The Fast Show. It ended in 2000. He also wrote a book on it along with his friend Paul. The book was nonfiction and was released in 2006.
