About this deal

I wanted to write an initial impressions summary of the KZ ZS10 Pro X that I just received today, compared to the Salnotes Zero because I've spent the last couple weeks researching the KZ and found surprisingly little.

Since the treble is not tuned to be bright, it provides an easy listening experience for users. Build Quality The sub-bass has a lot of authority, as demonstrated in songs like "Xanny" by Billie Eilish and "Hot In It" by Tiesto. The sensation of "rumble" in these and other songs is very good, and the sub-bass can be felt in the chest. Better Instrument separation. The Zero's thin instruments, more artifacts can make things sound mashed together at times. This may come as a surprise to some. We assume a more transparent (colder) IEM will have better separation. Technically, the Chu are a hair behind, showcasing slightly worse imaging, instrument separation, and soundstage. I would even suggest if you don't have enough money Buy JBL C100Si it's 599 rupees and sounds good for the moneyThe HOLA is very light, and ergonomics are top-notch. A small concha protrusion adds some grip during usage. The inner aspect of the shells are smooth without any awkward protrusions. I did not experience any discomfort during longer listening sessions. Yes you are very right that the Frequency Response of the Salnotes Zero and Aria SE look very similar, except the Salnotes Zero has a bit more sub-bass, and the Zero is brighter with more sibilance. The mids on this IEM are surprisingly smooth but also have a body to them. It’s not as pronounced, but it’s really organic and has a warmth to it. Pretty close to the OG Aria, same like Aria, it needs decent source to get the most of the technicalities. The scalability of the source on this set is very good, if connected to better source, of course the technicalities will get improved as well.

How much would I pay for this cable if it was sold separately? Well, cables have come a long way, but I think you would be happy if you spent 10-20 dollars… so how is this possible? I ask again. They could be no brainer for iem on the go, vacation, travel, sports since they sound good enough and they are cheap enough so you don’t care if you lose them or damage them. They are also suitable as gift to someone you like to introduce to the music like, kids, friends, colleagues… Treble : Sparkly, a bit splashy, pretty much the same presentation like the Aria OG, there's that edginess on the treble but it somehow make things sounds more lively and exciting in cost of being sounding a bit metallic. If compared directly to Aria OG, the Aria OG has more metallic treble. You really can’t critisize much with a nice sounding twenty dollar earphone. Cheaper audiophile IEMs have been an ongoing theme this year, and the Salnotes Zero definitely won’t be the last. For now, I particularly enjoyed the Zero for its great clarity and reliability. A great pic if you’re looking for something affordable with more detail than what is normally warranted. Pros if u want clean balanced sound signature i still prefer CHU...yes as am already said 7hz zero sounds good , but its overhyped by the online community..seems like a new marketing strategyThe bass can thump in the sub-bass region but remains tight and composed even when playing music designed to rattle your brain. It doesn't crush your mids either and displays ample speed to deal with EDM and pop songs. These two sets are complementary – the Tanya are more analogue sounding and are best suited to chill and relax, whereas the Zero are more analytical, cleaner, and leaner. Vs. Moondrop CHU Instrumental separation is always good considering what you are paying for. The soundstage is pretty average, not intimate at all but it can't be praised for the way it performs either. The ear tips that came with it were okay, and if it ever became an issue to me in the future, it’s an easy swap.

The shells are light and ergonomic, and I experienced no discomfort with long listening sessions. Tangzu says the Wan’er housing was designed based on accumulated data from many ears, and perhaps this is no hyperbole. There’s a concha protrusion to add additional grip during usage. The cable is quite nice: it is made of two pairs of two cores and it is quite soft, with metal housings for both terminations as well as the Y-split. There’s also a chin slider which, however, isn’t too functional as it tends to slide down easily. Sound & SpecsThe cable was also acceptable in terms of comfort. Some people may want to upgrade to a better cable, but I’ll keep mine since I have no problems with it. Sound Quality The soundstage is decently wide, though depth and height are below average. Micro-detailing, instrument separation, and clarity lose out to competitors. Imaging and layering are acceptable, though the intimate soundstage might make music congested, especially when it comes to fast or complex songs. At the end of the day, the Zero are slightly more refined than the Chu, in terms of technicalities, timbre, and tonality. Also the Zero utilize a detachable cable, which may increase their longevity. The HOLA is relatively well-accessorized, with a quality build and above-average isolation. The conservative tuning, coupled with a snug fit, renders the HOLA suitable for long listening sessions, with nary an ounce of fatigue. Ironically, the HOLA’s namesake is a misnomer - it is not bright nor sparkly. In fact, this IEM veers towards the boring side of the spectrum, and treble-heads or micro-detail seekers best be seeking something else to ignite sparks of excitement. Jokes aside, tonally, the two are similar, but the Chu are hotter in the lower treble. The Chu have a markedly more nasal and metallic timbre than the Zero, and this is apparent when vocals come out to play.
