About this deal

Putting it all together, and strongly speculating here, I think that Pa Salt (a.k.a the little French orphan / Bo / Mr Tanit / the ice-cream man) lost his wife (Elle / Mrs Tanit) at some stage between 1944 and 1951. At some point within that time, she gave birth to a daughter, putting the daughter at age 56-63 in 2007. We don't know Marina's age, but could she be Pa Salt's daughter? It doesn't necessarily fit with the timing, given we would expect Merope to be the youngest. Pa Salt also said to Maia that he never expected to bring the 7th sister home, so that theory requires some more work. Een ander punt: waarom hebben die (‘super slimme’) dochters nooit gevraagd wat hun vader voor werk deed en waarom ze zo rijk waren? Dat klopt echt niet. Zes zussen die echt niet verder keken dan hun neus lang is.

In South Africa, it was the fastest-selling fiction title in the last five years. In New Zealand it became the biggest launch for a book since the release of Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol in September 2009. In Australia, it shot to No.1 in the overall market. There are now 150,000 copies in print across all markets.

A boy is found, moments from death, and taken in by a kindly family. Gentle, precocious, talented, he flourishes in his new home, and the family show him a life he hadn’t dreamed possible. But he refuses to speak a word about who he really is. Pa Salt's journey was breathtaking, some parts were unbelievable, but in the end we got an answer to everything. The beginning was sometimes a bit confusing and I often had to turn to the other books to remember who is who... then I just started to write a chart to myself to mark the main places and people. I wish the Vaughan family storyline was more detailed. Atlas and Elle spent many years there and we only had two interactions with Flora. Electra's story was also a bit wobbly for me. It just felt too artificial that someone would keep a business card of a man who helped him once...I didn't feel the importance of this relationship. I really liked the explanations of Georg, Claudia and Marina.

From the start of this journey I have not been able to choose a favorite sister, and still can't. They are all unique in their own way. You already had one, didn’t you, you naughty girl. That man bought one for you. There is so much sadness in the world... Ay,’ We first see Pa Salt in about July 1928. He is a small boy found by Izabella (Maia’s great-great grandmother) under a cypress hedge in Paris. We know who he is because: porque el séptimo libro correspondiente a la hermana perdida, fue el que menos me gustó, pero es que además a mitad de lectura ya fue fácil sospechar que tendría que haber otro sí o sí para explicar toda la historia de Pa Salt, yThis is a very very special series, one I will never forget; I can’t ever imagine finding another that will live up to it. The perfect end to a perfect series… Shortly before the publication of The Missing Sister , Lucinda announced an eighth and final book in The Seven Sisters series, promising to answer the question at the heart of the story: who is Pa Salt? Before her death, Lucinda was able to write several important passages and detailed notes on the story. She expressed a clear wish that her eldest son, Harry, should complete the series if the worst were to happen. Co-authored by her son, Harry Whittaker, Atlas: The Story of Pa Salt draws the Seven Sisters series, Lucinda Riley's multimillion copy sensation, to its stunning, unforgettable conclusion. As he grows into a young man, falling in love and taking classes at the prestigious Conservatoire de Paris, he can almost forget the terrors of his past, or the promise he has vowed to keep. But across Europe an evil is rising, and no-one's safety is certain. In his heart, he knows the time will come when he must flee once more.

Maia: “Actually, don’t worry, those don’t sound like normal things that parents would tell their children. Forget that I asked - I should be off translating a story anyway.” Maia took us to Brazil and the Christ the Redeemer Statue. Ally took us to Norway with her musical family. Star took us to England and Beatrix Potter. CeCe took us to Australia to pearl and opal mines. Tiggy took us to Spain and flamenco dancers. Electra took us to Kenya and New York's drug culture. Merry took us to Ireland and it's revolution. Now that most people have had at least a week (or 5, depending on your language) to read the seventh book, it seems like a great time to start to theorise a bit more on what comes next.

From the very beginning the story flowed beautifully between present day on the Titan and the retelling of Pa Salt’s life through use of his diary. This was so cleverly executed that not once was I confused as to what time period I was in or who the narrator was; covering such a vast time period and cast of characters this can’t have been easily achieved.
