Very few actors can play unlikeable ambitious men better than Ron Silver, and he plays the role of the crooked Senator to the hilt. On one knee, using his body to shield the action, Chong Li carefully removes the chalky object from his trunks and crushes it into a powder in his hand. This pairing of two of the better entries in the filmography of Belgian action star Jean-Claude Van Damme offers high value for fans of the films as long as they are not partial to bonus features.

Dux has noticed a weakness in Chong Li's fighting style-- Parades almost turned the tables on him by landing a stiff punch to Chong Li's belly. It lacks the wit and energy of something like ' Road House,' and is too serious and grisly for anyone looking for anything besides people getting kicked in the head, to find appealing. Also included is a French Dolby Digital Mono mix for 'Bloodsport' and subtitles for both in English SDH, French and Spanish. It's just that the sub-par audio and video, and lack of any extras whatsoever, doesn't make it any more appetizing.Chong Li tries to throw Dux off by pushing the referee into him, but Dux, grabbing a handful of the ref's tunic, recognizes the ploy and carefully eases the referee behind him.

Based on the cinematographic style of Director Peter Hyams, my guess is that this is consistent with his intended look. Whisper to scream dynamics and frequent directional effects are rendered with precision and accuracy. Timecop' is just as lousy a movie as 'Bloodsport,' although infinitely more watchable, thanks to the visual oomph the mostly overlooked director Peter Hyams brings to the project, some neat-o (but still dated) set pieces, and the fact that you get to see Mia Sara, Sloane from ' Ferris Bueller's Day Off,' naked (fake boobs though – boo). A number of Kumite bouts are shown, and Dux, Chong Li, Chuan Ip Mung, Pumola, and Paco stand out, eliminating various opponents.

Riding a bus back to his hotel, Dux is haunted by memories of the bout and mistakenly thinks he sees Chong Li's reflection in the bus window, glaring at him.
