As far as venting and the Weber Premium vs Master touch debate, The premium and Master Touch models both have updated vents that are p-shaped. With the oval bottom vents, a small change in the dampers can make a big change in airflow and thus the temperature. Indirect barbecuing means that you don't place the meat directly over the heat of the coals. Instead, the joint is cooked using the indirect heat, created by closing the lid of the barbecue, and this allows you to cook more tender meat. Cooking in this way also means that the fat and juices from your meat don't drip onto the coals, which can cause unwanted flare-ups during the barbecuing process. The original kettle Weber charcoal BBQ is ideal for this method of cooking thanks to the extra lid height and also the lid thermometer. The Master Touch and the Premium grills are outfitted with built-in lid thermometers. Both feature a rounded dial-style design, with temperatures ranging from 150 degrees to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. Note that this doesn’t mean the grills will be able to maintain those temperatures, only that they’re capable of reading them.We held another successful Certified by Weber BBQ event at Sunshine Garden Centre on the 30th July Read More > Weber are renowned for their manufacture and supply of high quality barbecues, including both gas and charcoal models. Made from high grade American steel and powder coated to ensure that your barbecue doesn't rust or become damaged by the weather, Weber charcoal grills are chosen because of their durability and also because of the quality of the grilling that they offer. The kettle barbecue was initially ridiculed for its lid, but once keen cooks discovered the value of uniform heat being transferred around the inside of the kettle, derision was replaced by demand. The grills also have ingeniously designed interior blades that can be used to open and close the base of the grill as needed. We think the feature is more user-friendly on the Premium version than on the Master Touch.New for 2019, the Weber Master-Touch Premium 3-in-1 BBQ is the benchmark for charcoal barbecues. I have to make it clear at the outset that I’m a Weber fan and I bought this item myself, albeit with Riverside Garden Centre vouchers generously bought for me by family and friends for a milestone birthday last year. It is my third Weber 57cm kettle and sits alongside my 57cm Weber Smokey Mountain. These ash catchers are removable, making it possible to dump the ashes without the aid of shovels or brushes. They both have a generous capacity as well. Although the Master Touch is the preferred choice for long, slow cooking applications, the ash management systems are similar enough for us to declare a tie here. However, despite those adverse observations, it did hold its temps between 225f to 300f (lid thermometer). It varied because I had to leave the house a couple of times but the beef ribs were excellent. I have followed Gary ( @Glitch33) on Twittwer for a little while now. He produces some great cooks but is also great in sharing his opinion on BBQ equipment and providing help to the BBQ community where he can. This delicious salsa accompanied some Korean rubbed pork tenderloins and they were seared each side over Read More >The removable ash pan makes it even easier to clear out the barbecue once finished. Remove the pan, empty the ash, and you will be good to start barbecuing again without any unnecessary build-up of ash. The large 57cm cooking grate is big enough to cook for a family or gathering and is triple plated for durability. The hinged sides allow you to add extra fuel whilst cooking without having to remove the whole cooking grate, whilst the Gourmet Barbecue System central section can be removed, to allow you to add any GBS accessory into your grill. Use the sear grate, griddle, wok, poultry roaster, pizza stone, dutch oven or waffle iron to create restaurant quality meals at home. Yes, the accessories that come with the grill are of good quality. But they alone cannot justify the exorbitant price of the grill. If the accessories are what draw you to this grill, I suggest purchasing the standard Master-Touch Charcoal Grill 22" and buying the accessories separately. That way, you'll save money and likely avoid the disappointment I've experienced.
