About this deal

Successfully updated the firmware on my Emporia to allow for the local offload of data into Home Assistant. ENERGY MONITORING: Monitor your home's real power anywhere, anytime to prevent costly repairs, conserve energy, and save costs. This is a problem because one of our grid-tie systems ties into a subpanel that is monitored by 2 of the branch CT's. I have found that it is often simpler to have some intermediate, global, logical variables that encapsulate particular states.

I can't upload the full configuration because it won't compile on the pi4 so I was hoping to maybe do the full configuration over the air once the Emporia is connected to the network. Installing the Flexible Current Sensors is still dangerous, and Emporia highly recommends that installation be performed by a licensed electrician or other qualified professional. The Emporia Gen 2 looks to be quite a decent bit of kit but I'm not impressed by their response in their FAQ about why their API is closed. The simple Emporia iOS and Android app will show when and how much electricity you are consuming and when and how much excess energy you are producing back to the grid — giving you keen insight into the impact of your solar panels as they relate to your energy use. I look forward to being able to set up additional sensors when I can get around to having the main panel updated to have enough room and finally troubleshooting the scenario of my microwave and toaster oven not being able to be used simultaneously.

I had been told it had a hard time learning low-draw items like LEDs, so I was surprised when it learned the light bulb (incandescent) inside of my dryer. you don't have a way to detect if the current is coming from battery, from AC passthrough, or from solar/PV. And, in fact, it also provides second-by-second, minute-by-minute, day-to-day, month-to-month, and year-to-year data. I recompiled a whole bunch of times as I was setting everything up so yes, you absolutely need to be able to recompile and send te result to the Emporia. Otherwise you could probably use an Arduino or android app running on a firestick of some other android device in the house that is never turned off?

To sum it up, a pi4 64 bit HA server configuration can not compile the Emporia Vue 2 configuration via ESPHome. That module has a small antenna that pokes through a knock-out hole in the panel, so you can connect it to your Wi-Fi network (only 2. Smappee EV Line is eligible for several grants, such as the Ozev grant in the UK, and tax benefits in Belgium, Netherlands, France.

This allows you to monitor important appliances and equipment, like your air conditioner, furnace, water heater, washer/dryer, solar generation, and more. Has anyone done any packet sniffing to see how tough it would be to integrate with a home-brew program to access the raw data over the WiFi?

The other end of the connector is wired into a standard UK 3-pin plug which is plugged into a wall socket. It’s not a terribly complicated installation, but depending on your particular electrical panel a licensed electrician is definitely recommended. Absolutely no point is unfixable, but for what I thought would be a fairly easy plug and play setup, it's taken a heck of a lot more tinkering than I had expected when I set out, whereas everything I've put ESPhome on has been simpler than my expectations for effort needed, hence feeling attraction to the Emporia. The versions with 2 main clamps i think are the USA deign and they have split-phase supply there, so it just happens to have the 2 clamps out of box.The sensors, module, and app will give you a precise measurement of how much energy your larger appliances use—e. New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging . All it would take would be to turn on one device on that circuit at a time, look at the Emporia Energy app, and then jot down how much energy is being drawn in real time.

Going to try get it working with three phase inputs some time soon, not sure how hard/easy that will be. Yes, I read the thread about the Ecodan base load concern - I am not sure if there was a conclusive answer though? The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. Before removing the cover panels, turn off the main breaker which may or may not be in your panel or elsewhere in your house.
