Flanagan’s foreword for the new release from Suntup Editions continues, “I don’t know that there has ever been a haunted house story as downright cinematic as Hell House. It is written by a man who thought visually, who had a flair for cinematic set pieces, audience expectations, and visceral thrills that eluded many of his literary predecessors. That is one of the reasons I Am Legend [also by Richard Matheson] resonates so deeply, and Stephen King is correct when he says: ‘Without his I Am Legend, there would have been no Night of the Living Dead.’ Without Hell House, I’d argue that there would be no Poltergeist, no The Conjuring, no Insidious.” In his foreword, Flanagan reveals that had there been a third season of his ‘Haunting’ series for Netflix, it would have been an adaptation of Hell House! The most comprehensive book about the Jurassic Park trilogy to date, Jurassic Park: The Ultimate Visual History begins with an in-depth account of the making of Spielberg’s original film, including rare and never-before-seen imagery and exclusive interviews with key creatives. Readers will then unearth the full history of the trilogy, from The Lost World: Jurassic Park to Jurassic Park III, through unprecedented access to the creative process behind the films. Fans will also find a fascinating look at the wider world of the saga, including video games, toys, comics, and more, exploring the lasting legacy of the movies and their influence on pop culture.” Jurassic Park: The Ultimate Visual History will be the last word on the most epic saga in movie history--the definitive behind-the-scenes book that fans have been waiting for.

Additionally, but somewhat understandable, is the fact that all 3 movies pretty much get equal billing however there’s but one paragraph referring to the new trilogy, which have had next to no coverage when it comes to printed “making of” material. I know it’s a JP & not JW book but there just feels a little imbalance. Un viaje que va desde principios de los años 90 hasta la llegada del siglo XXI y que abarca la producción y realización de cada una de las películas de la trilogía original. Following the release of director Colin Trevorrow’s smash hit Jurassic World in 2015, the dinosaurs of Isla Nublar once again dominate the public imagination. Cuenta con comentarios y entrevistas desde el propio Spielberg, pasando por casi todo el elenco de las 3 películas, hasta los realizadores técnicos menos conocidos por el público general. The edition is printed letterpress on Mohawk Via Vellum paper and is signed by R.C. Matheson, Mike Flanagan and Nancy A. Collins.

The author adapted his novel into a screenplay for the 1973 film, The Legend of Hell House, starring Roddy McDowall and Pamela Franklin. I’m a huge fan of Spielberg, Jurassic Park & “Making of” material so I was excited to get my hands on this “not quite coffee table” book … & whilst I enjoyed it, it left me a little disappointed. Jurassic Park: The Ultimate Visual History will be the last word on the most epic saga in movie history—the definitive behind-the-scenes book that fans have been waiting for. That’s not to say it’s not a well researched book or in any way not attractive. The content is spot-on & refreshingly honest. So many books of a similar format portray the subject matter as perfect & James Mottram doesn’t shy away from not just the problems that the sequels encountered, but the fact the movies subsequently suffered in terms of entertainment, especially JP 3 … although I’m not sure any book could reflect quite how bad Crichton’s Lost World novel turned out & how even Spielberg would struggle to recreate movie magic like he did with the original.La crónica es muy pormenorizada, desde la preparación para cada escena, los sets, las revisiones del guion, y haciendo gran hincapié en los efectos especiales totalmente innovadores que cambiaron la industria para siempre. While we wait for the franchise to return first with “Camp Cretaceous” Season 4 and then with Jurassic World: Dominion, a new book on the original Jurassic Park has just been unleashed. Because of the in-world nature of the movie, readers will encounter the artwork behind the big picture of the film’s progress along with the marketing of the park seen inside the compound, gift shop, and visitor center. And of course look forward to lots and lots of dinosaurs in varying states of development. Half of the book is devoted to the first film in the franchise, and the rest to the next two films and marketing, including posters, toys, comics, and video games for the first trilogy of the franchise. Please be aware that the delivery time frame may vary according to the area of delivery - the approximate delivery time is usually between 1-2 business days.
