About this deal

Is this actually a derby? Many would argue no, as Liverpool and Manchester United don't live in the same parish. Yet the rivalry between the two clubs is undeniable. It first started during the industrial revolution, with Liverpool and Manchester both vying to be England's northern powerhouse. Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in. If you’re arriving in Milano Centrale, you can hop on the metro to the Duomo, which runs every 5 minutes. Alternatively, you can take tram line 1 to the north of the station, going all the way to Piazza del Duomo. From Milano Garibaldi, take the M2 to the Cadorna stop. From there, you can either choose to walk or take the M1 to the Duomo. The Basilica of the Madonna delle Lacrime (Basilica Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Tears), also called Madonnina delle Lacrime is a 20th-century Roman Catholic Marian shrine church in Siracusa in Sicily, Italy. The modern building, derided by some as an inverted ice-cream cone, dominates the skyline of the approach to Ortigia. But, being something of an amateur sleuth, Bishop Grillo wouldn't let the matter rest. Father Pablo, disobeying instructions, had given the statue to one of Gregori's brothers, so Monsignor Grillo persuaded the family to let him take it to Rome for analysis of the bloodstains and x-rays of the structure. The tests were repeated several times by separate teams, one headed by Professor Angelo Fiori at the Vatican's Gemelli hospital, the other by Rome's leading forensic medical examiner and DNA expert, Giancarlo Umani-Ronchi, director of the Institute for Forensic Medicine at the University of Rome.

Found in Milan’s zone one, right at the city’s heart, the Duomo can be reached easily from everywhere. The closest train station is Milano Cadorna, just a 20-minute walk. From Cadorna, you can also take the M1 to Duomo, which will drop you right in the main square. The Duomo is as architecturally astonishing on the outside as it is inside. Its pearly white façade is adorned with 135 gargoyles and 3,400 statues. It proudly displays a mélange of different artistic styles, including Romantic, Gothic and Gothic Revival.

But the story doesn't end there. Angelina, the girl in the painting, married a Venetian a few years later and moved to the United States. Together, the couple had ten children. Unfortunately, Angelina lost her husband and found herself in great financial difficulty with her young children. Distraught, she gradually lost her mind and found herself committed to a psychiatric facility where she died in 1972. Throughout the weekend, as the story hit the headlines, the faithful and the merely curious, including reporters and TV crews, thronged in their thousands down the small country lane to Gregori's house, pushing into his small garden, praying, weeping, gawping, chattering and crossing themselves as they filed past the tiny statue before shuffling out again to gossip and speak to the press.

In terms of Italian league titles Inter and Milan are joint-second behind Juventus (36 league titles), with 19 Scudettos apiece. The Cappella Musicale del Duomo (The Duomo Music Chapel) was established in 1402. In the same year, the Veneranda Fabbrica appointed the Chapel’s first master – Matteo da Perugia. He became the first maestro di cappella and paved the way for the next ones. By the time he left, the Chapel’s organisation included a master, organist, deputy master and choristers. The Madonnina The Madonnina spire or guglia del tiburio ("lantern spire"), one of the main features of the cathedral, was erected in 1762 at the height of 108.5m (356ft), as designed by Francesco Croce. At the top of the spire is the polychrome Madonnina statue, designed and built by Carlo Pellicani in 1774, during the episcopacy of Giuseppe Pozzobonelli who supported the idea to place the Madonnina at the top of the Cathedral.
