About this deal

Do not use Regaine if you have previously had a bad reaction to Minoxidil or any other ingredients in the product. Hereditary hair loss is a genetic condition that causes a reduction in the amount of time that hair grows. At The Independent Pharmacy, we understand that hereditary hair loss is often beyond one's control, and it's a challenge many are navigating through. The condition starts with hair receding at the hairline and temples, and then the hair on the crown begins to thin. Regaine is a treatment for hereditary hair loss which is available in the UK. It contains the active ingredient minoxidil 5%. Minoxidil works by increasing blood flow to the hair follicles of the scalp, reducing hair loss and encouraging new hair growth. It is available as a solution or a foam, depending on customer preference. Rogaine is another well known hair loss product sold in the U.S.A, and is simply another trade name for Regaine. They are the same product, made by the same manufacturer (Johnson & Johnson).

While you may be suffering from hereditary hair loss, the problem isn't that you're shedding hair. In fact, hair shedding is completely normal. If at any time during your treatment you are concerned you should consult your doctor or pharmacist.Regaine is recommended for men who have hereditary hair loss, who are aged between 18-65. It works best for men who experience thinning of the hair, or small ‘coin-sized’ patches of hair loss. If you have been bald for many years, or have very large areas of hair loss on your head, Regaine may not work as well. How effective is Regaine? Do not use Regaine if you are unsure that your hair loss is hereditary or if it is caused by another form of medical treatment. Hypersensitivity reactions (including face oedema, generalised erythema, pruritus generalised, swelling face, and throat tightness) If you are taking or using any other medicines including: certain blood pressure medicines called 'vasodilators' e.g. hydrazaline.

Regaine Foam comes in pressurised canisters. On the other hand, Regaine Solution comes in spray bottles. Both of these variants are known for being effective in producing the same results as they both contain the same strength of the active ingredient Minoxidil at 5% Both Regaine extra strength foam and solution are flammable. Do not use them near any naked flame or heat source or whilst smoking. You may need to use this medicine twice daily for at least 2 months before you see new hair growth, this is because hair growth is a slow process. Male pattern hair loss is due to a combination of hormones, called androgens, and genetics. If you have a family history of hair loss, you may be more likely to carry genes that put you at risk of experiencing hair loss. This is why the age it starts for each man can vary so drastically.Warning Flammable Liquid. Keep away from heat/sparks/open flames/ hot surfaces - No smoking. Avoid exposure of the container and contents to naked flames during use, storage and disposal. Keep container tightly closed. Store in well-ventilated place. Keep cool. Regaine Foam is licensed for use in men aged 18-49 and suffering from hereditary hair loss. After successful completion of our online consultation, our prescribers may prescribe this treatment for men up to the age of 65 years. This is because Regaine Solution, which contains the same active ingredient in the same strength (Minoxidil 5%), has been tested and licenced for use in men up to the age of 65 years. The main difference between Regaine foam and Regaine solution is the dispensing method, and it is down to patient preference which one you prefer. Regaine Foam is supplied in pressurised canisters while Regaine Solution is supplied in spray bottles. Both Regaine products are as effective as each other as they both contain the same strength of active ingredient. What is the difference between REGAINE and ROGAINE? of men will show noticeable hair loss by the age of 35 and 65% by the age of 60. Regaine is for the treatment of hereditary hair loss and works best in men who have been losing their hair for a short period of time. The systemic absorption of minoxidil from a 5% solution formulation has been estimated in a pharmacokinetic study in subjects with androgenetic alopecia, which included 5% topical foam as a comparator. This demonstrated that in men, the systemic absorption of minoxidil from twice daily application of 5% minoxidil solution was about twice that, as observed with 5% minoxidil foam. The mean steady state AUC (0-12 hr) and Cmax for 5% minoxidil foam, 8.81 ng·hr/mL and 1.11 ng/mL, respectively, were both approximately 50 % of AUC (0-12 hr) and Cmax of the 5% solution, 18.71 ng·hr/mL and 2.13 ng/mL, respectively. The time to maximum minoxidil concentration (Tmax) for the 5% solution, 5.79 hr, was similar to Tmax for the 5% foam, 5.42 hr. The mechanism by which minoxidil stimulates hair growth is not fully understood, but minoxidil can reverse the hair loss process of androgenetic alopecia by the following means:
