The air powder polisher handpiece attaches either directly to the air/water connector on the dental unit or as a separate unit or in combination with ultrasonic scalers. By activating the foot control, the handpiece nozzle would propel the slurry on the tooth surface. The nozzle should be held 3–4 mm from the tooth surface.
