About this deal

In Classic Mode, you can assign one parameter to each expressional pedal (A and B). Using the toe switch will select the other expression pedal and deactivate (bypass) the current expression pedal’s parameter. For example, if you assign a wah pedal to Expression Pedal A and a volume pedal to Expression Pedal B, only one of them will be active at any time; when you are controlling the wah pedal, the volume pedal will be bypassed, and vice versa. Yes, just simply tap the magnifying glass icon on the top bar of the Rig View screen and you can search through all of your presets using the QWERTY-style touch keyboard that appears. Note: If you are currently using a setlist when you tap the magnifying glass icon, you will only search within that setlist. The 4 new Amp Models range from clean and crunchy tones to fierce metal tones. Bass players get to utilise the B DIST 7000 model inspired by the Darkglass Microtubes B7K Ultra V2 Bass Preamp. These go in hand with new features for the modulation, dynamics/EQ and reverb/delay FX categories, expanding the already staggering tone shaping available in the MX5. Together with the huge addition of the ability to add two scenes to one footswitch, the flexibility and fluidity of the MX5 has just reached another level. What are you waiting for? Specifications Like the Gigboard and the Pedalboard, the new MX5 features 46 amplifier models, 15 cabinet models (each with 10 microphone emulations), 300 impulse responses, and 63 modelled effects. Also like its stablemates, the MX5 can store a virtually unlimited number of third‑party IRs alongside those from the factory. Using the built‑in USB Transfer Function, which makes the unit appear as an external drive to Windows or Mac computers, the onboard IRs can be copied, dragged and dropped to and from the computer and the MX5’s onboard Impulse Responses folder.

It may look compatible with popular multi-pedal power supplies but the MX5 will require more power than those boxes can provide. These boxes are a popular way to eliminate or reduce ground noise between different pedals by supplying a common ground. The MX5 is fully grounded through and through and will not add extra noise when integrated into a pedal system using the included power supply. Using the hands-free edit mode, you can adjust any parameter without having to bend over. Hold the footswitch assigned to the model that you want to adjust, select the parameter, and use the expression pedal to fine-tune your settings. The switches on the HeadRush MX5 are dual-purpose: holding down the switch will enter hands-free edit mode, and letting go initiates the action of the assigned pedal (on/off). This means that a model will not turn on/off until the associated pedal is released, which may differ from some standalone pedals that active/deactivate on the initial press. The following system requirements are the minimum specifications required for using the HeadRush MX5 with your computer: Ever wanted a room full of amps to play with? You can have them, right here. This Headrush MX5 is an amp modeller, meaning it contains a host of different amp types (46) for you to play with, all with the controls and features you'd find on a physical amp. The built-in cab sims and mic emulations also have a huge impact on your sound, letting you experiment with numerous different cab and microphone tones. On top of this, you can easily load your desired impulse responses into this beast, giving you an even more dynamic, authentic tonal workstation. And the expression pedal is more dynamic than you think, being able to select setlists and change various parameters on the fly without having to touch the screen. This is the perfect tool for use in the studio and onstage. Caters to all your setup needs

The touchscreen may be smaller than those of the larger Headrush devices but it remains easy to read and use.Connectors: (1) ¼-Inch (6.35 Mm) Mono Input (Guitar), (1) ¼-Inch (6.35 Mm) TRS Input (Expression Pedal), (1) ¼-Inch (6.35 Mm) Stereo Output (Send), (1) ¼-Inch (6.35 Mm) Stereo Input (Return), (2) ¼-Inch (6.35 Mm) Balanced Output (Main), (1) 1/8-Inch (3.5 Mm) Stereo Output (Headphones), (1) 1/8-Inch (3.5 Mm) Stereo Input (Auxiliary Device), (1) 1/8-Inch (3.5 Mm) MIDI Output, (1) 1/8-Inch (3.5 Mm) MIDI Input, (1) USB Type-B Port, (1) DC Power Adapter Input Yes. Some of our amp models include their onboard tremolo, but there is also a tremolo pedal model that can be used separately. If you connect an external expression pedal to this ¼" input, the external expression will control parameters assigned to expression pedal B. When an external expression pedal is connected, the internal expression pedal will only control parameters assigned to expression pedal A. Collection and delivery costs are included for the first 2 years in the event of an item becoming faulty

The HeadRush MX5 comes preloaded with 270 factory presets covering a huge variety of genres and styles.

In the four years since I reviewed the HeadRush Pedalboard (SOS September 2017: https://sosm.ag/headrush-pedalboard), the brand’s first guitar amplifier and effects modelling processor, the HeadRush range expanded to include the more compact Gigboard and the highly specialised Looperboard, which is dedicated entirely to the art of looping. Now, in keeping with the current trend of squeezing quarts of software into pint‑sized housings, we also have the HeadRush MX5, a super‑compact amp and effects modeller that contains all the software power (if not all of the facilities) of its larger modelling stablemates. Overview The MX5 feels like a more powerful beast than the full-fat floorboard did onits original release. It’s priced competitively, and can replace several pedals on a compact ’board. For players assembling complex but static chains it might even replace a whole pedalboard.”

Please note that this extended warranty is currently only available on products sold within the UK, EU or EEA, and is subject to the terms and conditions as detailed on the extended warranty certificate provided. You can have up to 50 loop layers with up to 5 minutes of recorded audio per layer, up to 20 minutes of total recorded audio per loop. However, the Gear4music extended warranty scheme provides an enhanced service, and is designed to offer a higher level of protection than many 'free' warranties offered by some retailers and manufacturers.

Gapless preset-switching is an exclusive feature on the HeadRush MX5 and means that any reverb or delay-tails will continue to ring out, even after changing your preset or rig. This way there is no break in the signal, making your rig changes sound fluid and seamless. For a demonstration, see the video here. Yes, reverb/delay spillover can be enabled/disabled for each rig by tapping the TAIL button in the rig view. Yes, you can do this by holding the bottom left footswitch and selecting the Rig, or Stomp views accordingly. Elsewhere, the MX5 is not constrained by its proportions at all, and it is an exceptionally inspiring and practical device that can be used as a conventional multi-effects unit, using its complement of overdrives and boosts to drive the front-end of your amp.
