About this deal

The instructions were written very clearly and I liked that it broke down the prep and cooking time in each recipe. I can see myself whipping up one of these recipes and eating while watching the corresponding anime on Netflix or Crunchyroll.

Lay the fillets, skin side up, on the foil and bake on the middle rack for 20 minutes, or until the flesh is flaky and the skin is crispy.Thank you so much to Nadine Estero, Quarto Publishing Group – Rock Point, and NetGalley for this lovely ARC! Teeming with cult references, this gourmet tribute will immerse you in astonishing anime universes:? And for sugartooth readers there is option from dessert and drink such as starfish cone (clannad), kero's purin (cardcaptor sakura), prairie oyster (cowboy beebob). grams), which I love because I hate weighing out ingredients 😅 The instructions seem pretty straightforward as well. So why it may not be my go to book for my next bento box, I already have a great list of people to invite over and send them home with an after dinner copy.

Both methods were fun, as I enjoy matching things together (I spent too much time on this, perhaps; it was like a game). Place the fish on an oiled rack over a tray of water and broil, skin side up, for 10 minutes, then flip and cook for another 5 minutes.

Recipes for main dishes, side dishes, bento box items, street food, drinks, and desserts, as well as a brief paragraph on the anime or manga being mentioned, helpful tips on ingredients and preparation, then mentions other mediums where this dish featured.

Inspired by everyone’s favorite egg with the can’t-be-bothered attitude, Gudetama: The Official Cookbook is an illustrated cookbook celebrating lazy living and easy cooking, with fun and delicious recipes from classic dishes to comfort meals. Most people have heard about the original Manga Cookbook by now, but they may not be aware that there's a recent sequel that you can enjoy too. Where else but “The Anime Chef Cookbook: 75 Iconic Dishes from Your Favorite Anime” by Nadine Estero. Unfortunately it’s NOT vegan/vegetarian friendly at all, but I know I can’t expect that of every cookbook I read.So in addition to very Japanese dishes you’ll also see things like hamburger (hambagu), spaghetti bolognese, crepes, milk tea and others, all that have been adapted in Japan and made an appearance in anime. As a gift from my anime-loving husband, "Cook Anime: Eat Like Your Favorite Character" has become a cherished addition to our culinary journey. Some of my favourite animes that are included in this are Haikyuu, Howl’s Moving Castle, Yuri On Ice, MHA, Demon Slayer, Ponyo, Violet Evergarden, Jujutsu Kaisen, AOT, Tokyo Ghoul, Spirited Away, Arrietty, Tokyo Revengers, Kakegurui, Ancient Magus Bride, Mob Psycho 100, Totoro, and When Marnie Was There.

Mainly, I wish the cookbook had actual pictures of the finished products for each recipe, rather than the (admittedly cute) artworks of finished products. In this book, you are sure to find recipes you love, whether you're a chef who is mastering cooking lessons, or even a beginner at switching on the hob! For example, I wanted to make Purin, the ingredients list mentions 1/2 cup sugar but the instructions mention using a total of 3/4 cup of sugar. Normally, I have no issues reviewing a cookbook, however, this one I’ve been putting off while trying a recipe or two. One thing I really appreciate is that the ingredients lists are done using both the US measurements and metric units.
