About this deal

This is my go-to piece when I’m in a hurry.I know it’s gonna be always running, always on time and I’m not afraid of damaging it. And it’s so lightweight you almost forget that you’re wearing a watch! MULTIBAND6 reception of six-time calibration signals: Japan (2), United States, Germany, England, China The initial GW-M5610U-1 was only released in Japan and Europe, so it seems unlikely that the GW-M5610U-1C and GW-M5610U-2 will get a wider release that that. The GW-M5610U-1CJF and GW-M5610U-2JF will be released in October 2021 in Japan with a retail tax-included price of 22,000 yen each.

The feature of permanent displaying the home time sacrificed the stopwatch somewhat. It still runs to a maximum of 23 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds, but the old module offered 1/100 of a second for the full maximum duration of the stopwatch. With the new module, 1/100 of a second is only available for the first hour (59′ 59” 99”’), thereafter the maximum accuracy is one second. For me, the permanent availability of the time in the display is way more usable. Alarms and Timer o Features - It has a lot of features and with 3 Second light, Timer, Alarm, World Time and water resist that works for me time zones (48 cities +coordinated universal time), daylight saving on/off, Home city/World time city swappingThese “U” series models feature an updated module with an LED light and enhanced functions compared to the previous GW-M5610 module. Other major features include Tough Solar power, Multi-Band 6 auto radio time sync, and 200 meter water resistance. A high-capacity solar-charging system harnesses the power of any light source for reliable watch operation with minimal impact to the environment. We think it is very important (before buying a new watch) to know if there will be some choice as for replacement bands for GW-M5610 (in future or even now). So we made a research and you shouldn’t worry about your future as the bands are available for buying. Perfect for free diving without scuba gear: the watch is water resistant up to 20 bar according to ISO 22810. This is additional way for time sync. This watch receives time calibration radio signals that keep the displayed time accurate.

I got mine from Japan, but I am on the fence about buying the new 5000U now they’re available here in the EU as well. months on rechargeable battery (operation period with normal use without exposure to light after charge)

Rating

Countdown start time setting range: 1 second to 24 hours (1-second increments, 1-minute increments and 1-hour increments)

Ja, the device can still be safely used. Firstly, remove the oxidizd battery. Never use bare hands to do this. Then clean the battery compartment with a cotton swab dipped in vinegar or lemon juice. Let it dry and insert new batteries. I don't know if this band style is a Japanese-market thing, but I am not a fan of this flat band that doesn't have the "links" where the band attaches to the module. It looks bloated, and shapeless in comparison to the normal band.

Technical Details

o Cheapish Band - I like the Barton silicone watch bands as the are soft and supple. The Casio band is a bit stiff. It is durable and we'll see how well it holds up. (I'll replace it with a conversion kit if I ever have band issues)
